I'd like to welcome you to this week's battle mage secrets. We are already 3 days gone into new season, how fast the days fly by, I truly hope you are having fun and progressing through the leagues.
This post is my continuous attempt to explain the various rulesets. I have so far shared my approach to seventeenth (17) Rulesets, here's the last one on KEEP YOUR DISTANCE
and I have come to introduce you to another.

Splinterlands seeks to sharpen skills by allowing players explore various strategies via rulesets
. I have tried to study a few cards especially with the newly introduced rulesets, giving one more reasons to know what cards strongly suits them.
Before the start of any battle, each player is shown what ruleset is allowed in battle and it is extremely beneficial to read and strategize accordingly. The ruleset secret I will be sharing you to in this post is the LITTLE LEAGUE
LITTLE LEAGUE RULESET implies that ONLY Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles.
With this in mind;
Monsters and summoners of 4 Mana or less will be the only ones available in this ruleset.^(a)
Use monsters with at least 2 magic damage and 2 ranged damage.^(b)
I especially enjoy this rulesets and have a perfect battle to demonstrate it's use and a possible lineup that works for high to mid mana battles.

This was a low mana cap battle with the TARGET PRACTICE
and spotlight ruleset of the week LITTLE LEAGUES
.
😱My opponent came at me with Level decent cards, but you can almost immediately see the faults. Splintertools already analyzed battle with a 100% win for me against my enemy 0%. Well, I have lost a battle with 100% chance, so I don't fully rely on the analysis but it works for the most part. I shared this battle from my Alt account this time and will quickly introduce you to my fantastic team of monsters.
⚔️ TEAM LINE-UP ⚔️
🌊ALRIC STORMBRINGER - SUMMONER
ALRIC STORMBRINGER is one of my favorite Water Splinter summoners because I like to use a powerful magic attack against my enemy, something that can quickly deplete their life points so that the battle lasts a few rounds but not too long. For this Battle I engaged ALRIC STORMBRINGER and his inherent ability to grant a +1 magic attack point, as the second Target practice ruleset supports magic monsters.
⚔️FURIOUS CHICKEN - FIRST POSITION
FURIOUS CHICKEN with the Enraged
ability. It's melee attack is lethal and engaged it to sorta serve as a distraction by taking the first hit for my second line of attack to gain some advantage. This chicken can absorb a few hit and also cause damage if lucky.
⚔️DOCTOR BLIGHT - SECOND POSITION
DOCTOR BLIGHT who is deserving of his title because of his strong dark occult magic and diverse set of abilities. He causes great Affliction
by making enemies wounds not heal, and then Poison
enemies every round of battle. His Camouflage
ability makes it impossible to attack and kill except if placed in first position. He goes on to Scavenges
for himself the health of every fallen monsters.
🌊TORRENT FIEND - THIRD POSITION
In third place comes TORRENT FIEND is a zero-cost unit positioned to deal with cunning enemy monsters. This card can take a blow or two if lucky. but, I employed it only for this purpose, not as an attacking unit per say, though it does have one melee attack.
I picked him for the obvious reason of Inspire and Speed, well needed in this battle.
🌊CRUSTACEAN KING - FOURTH POSITION
CRUSTACEAN KING is a very useful card in battle mainly because of it's Tank heal
ability which will help restore the health of the frontline monster each round and then Protect
all it's team by giving them double armor.
🌊VENARI SPELLSMITH - FIFTH POSITION
VENARI SPELLSMITH is a spell caster deserving of his title because of his strong dark magic and decent abilities. He Amplifies
the magic reflect, thorns and return fire ability of his team warriors by +1 and then Dispels
by removing all positive status effects on enemy therefore causing great damage.
🌊ICE PIXIE - SIXTH POSITION
ICE PIXIE at backline can deal considerable magic damage to the enemy. ICE PIXIE mainly as a magic attacker that can attack from any position. Her Flying
ability will destroy non-flying melee and ranged attack enemies, while her Shatter
ability will destroy enemy armor when she attacks.
Without further ado, let us now enter the battleground.
⚔️ THE BATTLE ⚔️
- My Enemy used the Water Unit too, BORTUS as Summoner. ENEMY-SPINEBACK TURTLE in first position, ENEMY-TIDE BITER in second, ENEMY-CRUSTACEAN KING in third, and ENEMY-PELACOR BANDIT in last position. Came at me with double Melee attack monsters, which I expected and well, nice team line-up. Just as i expected, sneak monster at the back and more melee attacker. Let's see how that went🤞.
SUMMONER ALRIC STROMBRINGER grants my magic monsters the '+1 Magic' ability.
ENEMY SUMMONER-BORTUS takes away the +1 magic boost from my enemies '-1 Magic'.
THE CRUSTACEAN KINGS ON BOTH TEAMS offer the
Protect ability
to monsters as expected.The round started with attacks from the enemy against my backline monsters, but then VENARI SPELLSMITH swoops in and takes out ENEMY-CRUSTACEAN KING thereby removing their defenses and exposed for great damage.
FURIOUS CHICKEN strikes at ENEMY-SPINEBACK TURTLE , but unfortunately gets killed by the enemy's thorn.
ENEMY-SPINEBACK TURTLE on a rampage to destroy my front-line monsters.
ENEMY-PELACOR BANDIT sneaks, attacks and kills ICE PIXIE. On seeing that VENARI SPELLSMITH attacks and weakens ENEMY-SPINEBACK TURTLE, giving room for DOCTOR BLIGHT to swoop, poison and kill it.
VENARI SPELLSMITH again attacks and weakens ENEMY-TIDE BITER, giving room for DOCTOR BLIGHT to swoop, poison and finally CRUSTACEAN KING taking the honors to kill it.
ENEMY-PELACOR BANDIT attacks DOCTOR BLIGHT -2, to end the whole charade, VENARI SPELLSMITH strikes and weakens ENEMY-PELACOR BANDIT, giving room for DOCTOR BLIGHT to swoop, poison and kill him instantly.
🎉MY MONSTER TEAM let out a roar FLAWLESS VICTORY!!!🎉
A RECAP OF THE LESSONS LEARNT FROM THE LITTLE LEAGUE RULESET
In battles that use the LITTLE LEAGUE
ruleset, only monsters and summoners that cost 4 mana or less may be used in battles. This unique constraint can make battles more challenging, as players must carefully select their lineup from a more limited pool of options.
To succeed in the Little League ruleset, players should focus on defensive capabilities. In Target practice combined with Little League, consider using summoners that provide +1 Magic is very good as this will effectively increase your teams durability on the battlefield.
Another key strategy is to use monsters with at least 2 magic damage. Given the mana constraints, every point of damage matters and these monsters can provide a significant damage output that can overcome opponents' defenses.
Alric is an especially beneficial summoner in this ruleset, as it can provide a valuable edge in Little League battles. Be sure to consider the specific abilities and advantages of your chosen summoner and how they align with the rest of your lineup. Good Luck and Keep kicking Butt💪
