Hello and welcome back to my blog!
In the previous post, I talked about the first two chapters of "The New War" quest. These were heroic tales of two soldiers, Kahl from the Grineer faction and Veso from Corpus.
The next chapter was about Drifter, a mysterious man who tried to defeat the soldier of Narmer. We play as him now and he has unique abilities. But less mobiilty unlike the Tenno. No bullet jump or fluid movement like that, so you have to learn how to play well with it and adjust to the new skills.
There are missions where we need to sneak and not get caught which is totally opposite to what we have been doing throughout the game...lol.
The drifter wanted to save Lotus for some reason and Hunhow, the leader of the Sentient forces and father of Lotus, tells us how to go about that. He tasked us to defeat three Sentient Beasts, Boreal, Nira and Amar.

He tells us about their strengths and weaknesses. Also, gave us a powerful bow to hunt these beasts.
I choose Mira first, the snakehead lady. With this new bow and some sneaky abilities, it wasn't too challenging.
These bosses drop archon shards which were required to heal Lotus. But Lotus was not too happy and attacked us. Looks like she doesn't remember much. We killed Amar too and fed the Shard to Lotus, this time she was much more powerful and tried to kill us.
It turned out the guy was our adult self. In this part of the story, I didn't get much. It got quite confusing to comprehend. If you get time travel involved and different timelines and whatnot, it will surely get confusing. But we had to make an important decision to play as the teenage one or choose the adult one. I liked the humour of the adult drifter and chose him when there was an option to choose on the screen.
We went back to the Origin system and saw the NPCs in Plains of Eidolon were controlled by Narmer now. We had to go to the Ship and fight Ballas.
The Railjack mission was tough. Ballas had evil plans to destroy the Sun and kill everyone in this system. We had to get close to his ship which was stationed near the dying sun.
That is when we met Herra who defected from Ballas and tried to help us. This was the only time we got to use our Necramech machine. I spent a lot of time farming for its parts only to be used for like 10 minutes in the entire four-hour quest. Not worth the grind...lol
A big battle took place with Ballas where Lotus was on our side. She got cured and got back to normal but she was showing multiple personalities and we asked to choose her one. Natah, Lotus or Margulis. Each came with their appearances. But I choose Lotus because I am sure she would like that and if we had to go back to Natah (her sentient form) and Margulis (what Ballas wanted her to become) then in a way Ballas had won. So, I chose Lotus and also Lotus felt comforting. I have been receiving missions and directions from here right from the start of this form. Why would I change it now?
I know I skipped the epic battle at the end but one should experience it on their own. This whole quest was like watching a movie. I loved the ending and the way we controlled a lot of different characters and all of them contributed to this victory.
This quest was filled with a lot of action. It unlocked a lot of other quests both main and side quests. Also, we received a lot of items on completion of it.
