The 7th Seal - First Impressions

Hello Play2Earn Gamers!

This week after the suggestion from @bozz I have been playing The 7th Seal which is a great game available on the Wax blockchain. The developers behind the game originally made over $250k from land sales from the game and used this to develop it further including putting in some tokenomics to ensure there was a play2earn element to the game too.

However, they ran out of funds and now work and support the project in their spare time, so the development is much slower now.

The token that you earn is called Essence and you can earn it by playing solo or online games with other players. This is a side token from the Wax blockchain that you can trade on the Alcor exchange. There is not much trading activity there though.

The game has a slick interface and some really ambient music for the game. I tried to play online with other players, but there was only 1 guy there and that made just 2 of us which wasn't enough to fill the 6 player game.

Therefore, I played the solo game which was also great fun to play. It is a cool 3D world where you start with a small town and try and build new towns and armies to do battle and take over your enemies.

So far I have struggled to actually win and hold off my opponents. Each turn is important to build up your army as quickly as possible and go out and conquer. The gameplay is intuitive and you quickly get a good grasp of it.

The game feels very similar to The Settlers although much faster and a far simpler gameplay. You can buy some enhancement NFTs that you can use on the different tiles that provide a range of benefits. They don't cost very much so I may buy a few and see how that enhances the game.

The game runs very smoothly and time flies while you defend your empire from the enemy hordes. The turn-based element reminds me of the classic Civilisation game, which gives it a mix of The Settlers and Civilisation.

Overall, the game looks awesome, runs fast, and is very addictive and playable. So far I didn't manage to earn any crypto, but the gameplay more than makes up for it.
