Astana, the Isle of Beer had been claimed from Willie Wibblesock thanks to the strategic buying of shares in his island and subsequent takeover. There is no need for violent and oppressive war when you have politics on your side! š
After several moons, seas of wheat and hops adorned the island ready to be transformed into glorious beer for the people.
Soon beer was in abundance and was being transported back to Eluria, enabling the people to rejoice.
Thanks to a quest from one of the merchants of the world, the Eluria Zoo claimed its first animal, also. A display of Fennec Foxes.
I was eager to get my hands on some more strange and wonderful animals to fill my zoo with for the people to ogle at, and to do that I could either wait for more random animals to appear in the quest rewards from various merchants, or I could begin exploring the world beyond the known regions and expanding my influence.
I started preparing a ship to leave upon the first expedition into the great unknown, only to discover that they didn't want to travel without 50 tonnes of beer. 50 tonnes was all I had and I didn't want to leave the people of the mainland without the delicacy.
So I waited for the beer supplies to rise, and also crafted a lot of cannons to take on the journey. The naval power would be useful or so the scouts suggested.
Once the ship was fully stocked, I sent it forth upon its adventure.
It was destined to discover the New World... a dangerous place rumoured to be filled with pirates as well as wonders. As the boat tried to find this distant place, I hoped to find some treasures on the journey too.
While my boat was at sea, I got to work expanding Eluria's Zoo and Museum and then started to build one up on Astana too. Although it was the Isle of Beer, it too had people living and working on the island and surely they would enjoy some sightseeing and tourism also.
Suddenly, disaster.
The ship out on expedition was not having a very good time.
First there was a crack in the hull that needed to be repaired, then the ship's coffers were emptied whilst at a brief port, then they came across pirates attacking a merchant ship! They decided to attack the pirates and save the merchants and were well-rewarded with gold, plentiful gold.
But then! A storm came from out of nowhere and wrecked the ship upon coral shores. The entire ship needed to be repaired but the crewsmen were getting antsy, rebellious, threatened to mutiny.
Thankfully they were convinced to repair the damned ship so the expedition could continue.
And with that, the ship on expedition stumbled across The New World.
The Elurians received a warm welcome from a local merchant in this New World. Such a warm welcome ā she gave the Elurians a free ship loaded with materials so they could settle an island and become locals themselves.
In the corner of the map sat a lovely crescent-shaped island lush with cocoa beans and coffee beans. Sugarcane would've been nice in order to make their own Elurian rum, but they'd just have to settle another island at some point in this new world.
For now, this island of chocolate and coffee would do nicely.
