Usury is the worst sin, so attacking someone's honor is the worst usury.
Backbiting is a worse sin than alcohol and adultery.
We do not even set foot towards the House of Allah. But the sanctity of a Muslim's honor is greater than Bait Allah.
This sin is eating up our austerities and prayers. The veil of virtues is slowly becoming empty.
Through your prayers, Tahajjud, fasting, Quran, create the fear of God in your heart that will stop you from this sin. Otherwise, what is the use of those acts of worship that cannot make you a servant of Allah.
Backbiting smells bigger sins than itself. Like slander and slander.
If you talk about someone in a way that does not exist in their name, then you have incurred the sin of slander.
If we follow someone's faults, then know that the Lord will reveal our faults. Shame of disgrace will have to be borne.
We must have guessed that backbiting is a serious sin.
Now let's see its treatment:
Ask Allah for the one who has backbited.
Read the verses, hadiths about backbiting again and again.
Reduce talking. Because the more you speak, the more chance of backbiting will increase. From now on, start speaking carefully and thoughtfully.
Put yourself in this person's place. You don't even know and a person is ruining your image and honor in front of others, opening your curtains.
What will happen to you?
The real connection of the tongue is with the heart. If the heart forgives, or does not despise another, it will not backbite him. So clean your heart by forgiving everyone.
Start paying attention to people's good things instead of bad things.
Even if there is some evil in someone, do not earn a greater sin than his sin by backbiting him.
Keep the punishment to yourself. In case of backbiting, one has to pay Nafl or Sadaqah. In this way, gradually this habit will end.
Keep in mind that we are not free and we have no privacy.
The cameras and pens of Allah and the angels are attached to us all the time. Everything is being written and it has to be answered.
