Esta columna ha sido una bonita experiencia para mí, gracias a quienes han participado con sus espléndidas publicaciones, que realmente he disfrutado mucho leer.
Espero que las letras continúen siendo nuestra fuente de inspiración y un puente para compartir nuestras experiencias.

Welcome once again to this space, which aims to be full of “Inspiring Letters” for all of you.
This column has been a beautiful experience for me, thanks to those who have participated with their splendid publications, which I have really enjoyed reading.

Mothers and their wisdom
Generalmente las madres son una fuente de sabiduría, no importa el nivel académico que tengan, cuando se trata de sus hijos, siempre harán lo imposible para orientarlos, reconfortarlos y motivarlos.
Ellas nos enseñan que siempre hay una luz al final del camino, por muy oscuro que parezca, pero también nos enseñan un sin número de valores que guían nuestro comportamiento.
Cuando somos adultos muchas de esas enseñanzas siguen presentes, están marcadas a fuego en nuestra alma. Hay frases que se repiten en nuestra mente, logrando consolarnos, motivarnos o guiarnos en todo momento.
Generally, mothers are a source of wisdom, no matter what academic level they have, when it comes to their children, they will always do their best to guide, comfort and motivate them.
They teach us that there is always a light at the end of the road, no matter how dark it may seem, but they also teach us a number of values that guide our behavior.
When we are adults many of these teachings are still present, they are marked with fire in our soul. There are phrases that repeat themselves in our minds, comforting us, motivating us or guiding us at all times.

Son muchas las expresiones que guardo de mi madre, pero en este momento, esa es la primera que salió a flote.
A través de esas palabras ella me estaba enseñando el arte de la excelencia, por ejemplo, cuando yo hacía una tarea de la escuela, no podían haber borrones, ni errores ortográficos y debía hacerla completa.
Hasta algo tan simple como limpiar una mesa, debía estar bien hecho, con un trapo bien limpio, que debía dejar limpio también después de usarlo.
Su razonamiento era simple: Las personas te ven de acuerdo a lo que haces, si haces las cosas mal, parecerás mediocre; además, cuando alguien te confía una tarea, está contando contigo y sería decepcionante descubrir que no fuiste capaz de completarla satisfactoriamente.
Es tu imagen la que está en juego, tú eres lo que haces.

There are many expressions that I keep from my mother, but at this moment, this is the first one that came to the surface.
Through those words she was teaching me the art of excellence, for example, when I did a school assignment, there could be no erasures, no spelling mistakes and I had to do it completely.
Even something as simple as wiping a table had to be well done, with a clean cloth, which I had to leave clean after using it.
His reasoning was simple: People see you according to what you do, if you do things badly, you will look mediocre; besides, when someone entrusts you with a task, they are counting on you and it would be disappointing to find out that you were not able to complete it satisfactorily.

Everything in this life happens.
Cuan útil me ha sido esa expresión en momentos difíciles. Para mí es como un mantra.
Cuando siento que alguna situación me supera, respiro y pienso: Todo pasa, esto también pasará y me imagino sonriendo de nuevo.
Intento mantenerme enfocada en que todo pasará, porque en el fondo de mi ser sé que así será, aunque en ese momento no pueda verlo. Eso realmente me hace sentir alivio.

How useful this expression has been to me in difficult times. For me it is like a mantra.
When I feel that some situation overcomes me, I breathe and think: Everything passes, this too will pass and I imagine myself smiling again.
I try to stay focused on the fact that everything will pass, because deep inside I know it will, even if I can't see it at the time. That really makes me feel relieved.
