Once a year the "Aufsteirern" takes place in Graz. A festival that lasts 2 days and this year took place from 17-18 September. In these two days, the city center of Graz is transformed into a huge showplace where traditional crafts, delicious delicacies and Styrian folk culture show themselves. Associations, gastronomy, music, retailers... everything that fits here finds its place.
Personally, I am not a friend of such large gatherings of people, so I was never there until now 😁 Of course, I could not miss the event, because wherever you look people in Styrian costume are on the road and go to the „Aufsteirern“. And: on these days it is better not to leave the "parking lot in front of the apartment", because when you come back, everything is certainly parked up. These are my experiences so far so on the edge 🙃
Today, however, I made an exception and took a walk into the city center to get a picture 😀. Many, many people were there! But, I must say: it was also really nice. There were interesting booths, from fashion to wooden goods, from soaps to delicious culinary specialties. Of course also music contributions. All in all: really interesting!
In total, there were about 120,000 visitors here in Graz at the „Aufsteirern“. Already quite neat 🤩

1x jährlich findet das „Aufsteirern“ in Graz statt. Ein Festival das über 2 Tage geht und heuer von 17.-18. September stattfand. In diesen zwei Tagen verwandelt sich die Grazer Innenstadt in einen riesigen Schauplatz wo traditionelles Handwerk, köstliche Schmankerln und steirische Volkskultur sich zeigen. Vereine, Gastronomie, Musik, Einzelhändler… alles was hier dazu passt findet seinen Platz.
Ich persönlich bin ja kein Freund von solchen großen Menschenansammlungen, daher war ich bis jetzt auch noch nie dabei 😁 Natürlich konnte ich das Event nicht übersehen, denn wo du hinsiehst sind Menschen in steirischer Tracht unterwegs und begeben sich zum Aufsteirern. Und: an diesen Tagen ist es besser den „Parkplatz vor der Wohnung“ nicht zu verlassen, denn wenn man wieder kommt, ist bestimmt alles zugeparkt. Das sind meine Erfahrungen bis jetzt so am Rande 🙃
Heute aber machte ich doch glatt eine Ausnahme und machte einen Spaziergang in die Innenstadt um mir doch mal ein Bild zu machen 😀. Viele, viele Leute waren da!!! Aber, ich muss sagen: es war auch richtig nett. Es gab interessante Stände, von Mode bis zu Holzwaren, von Seifen bis zu köstlichen kulinarischen Spezialitäten. Natürlich auch Musikbeiträge. Alles in Allem: schon interessant!
Insgesamt waren rund 120.000 Besucher hier in Graz beim Aufsteirern. Schon ganz ordentlich 🤩
