Yesterday morning after dropping the boys at school I took @stryeyz to the airport for her flight back to her parents. Nicely there was zero line at security and she was through quickly. It was 12 hours later when she got to their house finally.
After dropping her off I then drove across Spokane to Saltese. The winds were forecast to be moderate and out of the s/sw so I took a chance. I hit the parking lot at 9am.
As I hiked up I got to the spot I launched last time and landed in the tree and a man and his dog were out hiking. We got to talking about flying and he wanted to watch me launch. I got to the top by 9:30am and soon had my wing out and was ready, just had to wait on the wind.
Which did not take long to pickup enough. I had a nice 6 to 7 mph wind.

I built my wall and let it sit back while I watched the wind.
Then I pulled my wing up which came up mostly straight and I got it opened fully, then turned and ran.
I had a few butterflies but once my wing loaded and lifted my feet off the ground it was all good, I was right back in it mentally.
The probably was enough wind that I could have played on the ridge for a bit but I just went for a straight flight down the ridge.
The trail there on the hill was where I launched from prior that I landed in the tree, just below my feet out of frame.
I was cruising at mostly about 11-13 mph down the ridge which gave me a pretty slow feeling flight.
I had more than enough height to get across the road and got a bit of turbulence as I went over the point with the rocks that broke up the wind a bit.
I was couple hundred feet up still when I got across and was thinking how I would best lose the altitude.
I turned into the wind for a bit then decided it best to do a single spiral to get down.
I turned to my left and then soon hit the downwind side.
About this point I was feeling better about the turn but for a moment I was a bit unsure as the power lines were there and I was going towards them fast. I pulled hard on my left brake and I swung right around nicely in line for landing.
There are green t-posts along the ditch there but thankfully no fence on them so they are not too hard to miss.
It felt REALLY good to have a nice mellow flight for my first in 2 months. I packed up and then headed for home as I had no desire to hike again.
I was home in time to watch the abortion of a game that Man Utd played. The refs and VAR are pitiful anymore. The micro-managing of every player's body position is psychotic and removes SOOOO much of the game play. The governing bodies need to be scrapped and start fresh with proper rules for the game.
After picking the boys up I was browsing eztv and found a pretty cool series, On The Fly Adventures at Altitude which is a Smithsonian Channel show. All about aviation type adventures and jobs.
My evening was spent in the co-op board meeting, one of my last as my 2nd tenure is coming to an end. Good progress though on a couple points I have been bringing up for over 7 years.
I got a soak in for a while but was out after a jet cycle as I was beat.
Today is no rain but the winds are out of the NE so no flying. The boys have the Veteran's day concert at school I will be going to, bunches of stuff needs to get tossed to the birds and animals, I have to get more written on my story than yesterday, and work outside while there is no rain.
