The Sea Genie will be my entry this week for the Splinterlands Fanart Challenge.
Sea Genie is a Common Water Element unit with Magic attack. It has the Flying ability, so ranged and melee attacks often miss when fighting against it. At Level 6, it gains an additional ability called Strengthen, which increases the health of all friendly units by +1.
First, I sketched its figure, which served as the base figure where I would add elements to make it resemble the Sea Genie.
Next, I added the details of Sea Genie, but I only made a draft drawing.
Once I got the figure and added the details, I finalized the outline that I would use.
The brush I used for drawing this outline was a charcoal brush.
Then, I started coloring. I used a watercolor brush and gradually filled in the drawing. Sea Genie has only a few colors: shades of blue for the skin, red for the clothing, and gold for the accessories.
After coloring the main parts of the character, I added shading, again using the charcoal brush. I applied dark and light shades over the main colors.
Since it’s a genie, I used a cloud brush for the lower half of its body, which is smoke, using various shades of violet.
For the background, I used a bluish-gray color and added a few strokes of clouds.
