Exploring the Chaos: Dragon Rewards

Dragon Rewards.png

Introduction

Hi! @saydie here playing Splinterlands everyday.

This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion cards including thier subsets such as Riftwatchers and the Reward cards, as they brought new abilities and strategies that changes how the game was played.

Last time, I have talked about Death rewards and how this team have great tanks for different scenarios and how they also have good magic splinters with Venari Bonesmith that can be an alternate from Doctor Blight and Revealer was good with stun at bronze level. Now, I will be reviewing about the Dragon rewards but before that, here are the new Dragon Soulbound reward cards that we could get on our daily and season chest.

Battle 1: Naga Assassin, Twilight Basilisk and Dhampir Infiltrator

Available Elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Dragon

img_combat-rule_fire-regret_150_small.png
Fire and Regret
All monsters have the Return Fire ability.

For this 30 mana battle, we have Evens Stevens rule set that limits the use of monster to those of even mana cost only and magic attacks need to get trough armor first before they can reduce the health of the opponent. And also in this battle, the Fire and Regret rule set was in play, so range monsters will received damage when they attack. Despite that, I still use Naga Assassin so that my team will be the first to attack, dealing substantial damage to Wave Brood before it was taken out by Deeplurker

image.png

And with the speed boost that Naga Assassin has given, Twilight Basilisk becomes faster and attacked Diemonshark and stunning it.

image.png

While Dhampir Infiltrator attacks Wave Brood to Cripple it and prevent it from being healed with Affliction.

Bttle 2: Djinn Chwalla

ConditionsDescription

Diamond League
Modern Format
41 Mana Cap
Available Elements:Fire, Life, Death, Dragon

img_combat-rule_magic-reflect_150_small.png
Counterspell
All monsters have the Magic Reflect ability.
img_combat-rule_tis-but-scratches_150.png
Tis But Scratches
All monsters have the Cripple ability.

For the 2nd battle, we have a 41 mana cap match with Counterspell rule set which makes magic monsters to received damage when they attack and Tis But Scratches that cripples that gives monsters the Cripple ability. When Djinn Chwalla got attacked by Radiated Brute, it got damaged by Thorns losing -2 health and also leads to Djinn Chwalla to have an increased melee damage and speed.

Final Thoughts

I think that the old Dragon rewards was already strong with this lineup but what made this team more special was that they can be used together with neutral cards and one element of your choosing with the use of Dragon summoner. Aside from Djinn Chawalla which was an excellent tank. the rest of the dragon cards were also good but more appropriate for low mana matches.
