Introduction
Hi! @saydie here playing Splinterlands everyday.
This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion and now also the Riftwatchers cards, as they brought new abilities that changes how we play the game.
The last Chaos Legion ability that I tackle was the Runi- exclusive ability Rebirth which allows the card to do self Resurrect and that covers all the existing abilities for Chaos Legion but there will be new abilities that will be coming with the new Soul Bound rewards card to be released after the end of this season. That said, all the previous reward cards that we can get on our daily and season focus will not be printed anymore so as we say good bye with this cards, let us have a deep dive on each one of them starting with the Fire Rewards card but before that, here will be the new cards that will replace them.

I will also review this cards in the future when I have obtained some of them but this is how they look right now although their stats and abilities might still undergo changes before being released.

Fire Rewards in Action
Battle 1: Venari Heatsmith
Conditions | Description |
---|---|
![]() Gold League Modern Format | 26 Mana Cap Available Elements: Fire, Life, Death, Earth Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_45f9aec0d0fd94385fe0767908ecb5b6&ref=avainattempt |
![]() Week Magic | Magic attacks hit Armor before reducing Health. |
![]() Equalizer | The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health. |
![]() Holly Protection | All Monsters have the Divine Shield ability. |
For this battle, monsters will not take damage on the 1st attack and magic damage cannot directly reduce health which makes it redundant with the ability of Venari Heatsmith but with all of them having the same health, it became a good low mana tank and allows me to use bigger mana cards with high damage output and further boosted by summoner ability.
Battle 2: Exploding Rats
Conditions | Description |
---|---|
![]() Gold League Modern Format | 25 Mana Cap Available Elements: Fire Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_f2b17ba6d7bc0ee18487fe009efd84cf&ref=avainattempt |
![]() Ferocity | All monsters have the Fury ability. |
![]() Aimless | All monsters have the Scattershot ability. |
![]() Earthquake | Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round. |
For the 2nd battle, range and magic monsters gain the Scattershot ability making their attack goes to random and non-flying monsters will received -2 damage. despite making a mistake on putting Explosive Rats on the middle of the line- up instead of placing it on front, it was still able to deal some damage to the opponent with Redemption and able to take down the 2 Flying monsters of the opponent that only have 1 health due to Weaken.
Battle 3: Lava Launcher & Countess Sinash
Conditions | Description |
---|---|
![]() Diamond League Modern Format | 60 Mana Cap Available Elements: Fire, Life, Water, Death, Earth, Dragon Link: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_b76180516e12be1bb672ad466aab94dd&ref=crimepoet |
![]() Spreading Fury | All monsters have the Enrage ability. |
![]() Equalizer | The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health. |
On this battle, every monster have the same health and gains Enrage meaning melee damage and speed will increase once a monster received damage and on this battle will be a combination of Lava Launcher and Countess Sinash that despite being nerved by the opponents summoner still has decent ranged attacks.
And aside from this, Countess Sinash were able to deal Blast damage against the opponent.
Meanwhile, on the 2nd image, Lava Launcher was placed on the font position but still was able to attack and at the same time, Stun the opponent.
Final Thoughts
Within the soon to be out of print Fire rewards card, Lava Launcher and Countess Sinash was among my favorite and if the rule set includes Explosive Weaponry or I can use Yodin Zaku, Blood Maker can also be included with my line- up. On the other hand, Explosive Rats wa better used on Equalizer due to it's low health or either Melee Mayhem or Super Sneak where it can attack on any position and Venari Heatsmith was still better as a support card increasing indirect damage with Amplify.
The battle links provided comes from my personal accounts and from the scholar account that I am using from Balthazar Guild.
