Introduction


Hi! @saydie here playing Splinterlands everyday.

This is Exploring the Chaos where I take a look on Chaos Legion cards including thier subsets such as Riftwatchers and the Reward cards, as they brought new abilities and strategies that changes how the game was played.

It's been the second week of the new Soul Bound cards and I have collected some decent amount of them though there are still lots of it that I am missing, nevertheless, they are still not on the level that I want them to be. Last time, I talk about the Water rewards card and how I think that they were the strongest set among the rewards card and how well they synchronize with Water summoners Now, I'm going to look for the old reward cards from the Earth element but before that, here are the new rewards card that we will see on our chest starting this season.

Card Stats

Djinn Biljka_stats.png

  • Djinn Biljka has caumouflage that allows it to be unable to be targeted by direct attacks.
  • It has Void which can reduce the damage it can take from magic attacks.
  • The Weaken will reduce the health of all opponent monsters as long as Djinn Biljka remains on play.

Battle 1: Pelacor Mercenary and Vampire Bat

Only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles.

Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round.

For this 25 mana battle, we have a the Earthquake rule set which will damage non- flying monsters and only odd monsters can be used. I have chosen Pelacor Mercenary as my main tank for it's Flying ability though it would not be as effective because its healing capabilities were sealed by the rule set but the fact of the matter that it has huge health and unaffected by the Earthquake rule set was more than enough to last it for a round as a damage sponge.

Meanwhile, since Vampire Bat has low health, it has become a target for Opportunity attacks but even at round 2, the attacker has continued to miss and it's only opponent was magic attacks.

Battle 2: Pelacor Mercenary And Venari Seedsmith

Only Common and Rare Monsters may be used in battles.

For the 2nd battle, Close range allows range monsters to attack at the first position and with Aim True none of the attacks can miss but the selection of monsters are limited for only common and rare monsters. This time, Pelacor Mercenary now has it's healing and was also able to perform Retaliate towards Sunkai Harvester which attacked at the second spot.

On the other hand, Venari Seedsmith was continuously increasing its health for every monster that was defeated with Scavenger when it only has 4 health originally while also landing some Poison to the opponent.

Battle 3: Vampiric Blossom

All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability.

All monsters have Fury ability.

Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks.

For this battle, we have Target Practice which gives magic and range monsters the Snipe ability and the slower monsters gets to attack first with Reverse Speed and the use of Taunt was to be avoided as every monster got Fury. During round 4, when only Uraeus was the monster that remains, Vampiric Blossom was able to hit it with Deathblow but it got armor so it was not able to land the final blow.

Battle 4: Djinn Biljka

What Doesn't Kill You
All monsters have Enrage ability.

Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks.

With this battle, we have only 26 mana but the monsters have its initial health be the same for the health of the monster with the highest health with Equalizer and all monsters got both the Opportunity ability which allows to target the monster with the lowest health and Enrage which will increase both melee attack and speed when received damage. Djinn Biljka with camouflage will not be a target of attack until it gets to the front and at the same time, it reduces the health of the opponent monsters. while also dealing heavy magic damage.

Final Thoughts


Earth rewards have some interesting cards like Pelacor Mercenary for a common card but the rest are just really average. Vampiric Blossom was almost similar to Venari Seedsmith and something of a counter for it's poison but between the two, I would rather use Venari Seedsmith as I am not a fan of Deathblow. Djinn Biljka was risky to use because of its low health and although it cannot be taken down directly, it can be easily taken down when one has Magic Reflect and Amplify. Vampire Bat can be good when fighting with no magic. They are more of a Jack of all trades set for they can be good under a certain rule set or with a certain summoner.
