A warm Friday to all Splinter fans and gamers in 149 countries all over the world!

Today’s choice for Share Your Weekly Battle Story will come from the Fire Splinters represented by two exploding monsters – Exploding Dwarf and Exploding Rats! These creatures are really fiery and serious in their goal to burn their enemies. Exploding rats in particular are utilized as weapons for war.

Statistics

Though the fighting stats of these two fire splinters don’t differ much, in terms of market price, Exploding Dwarf is comparatively very expensive. Their health is similar. Exploding Rats are faster and the mana is lower. Exploding Rats are rare fire splinters while the Exploding Dwarf is just a common monster. The only advantage Exploding Dwarf has is its Melee attack.

A level 1 Exploding Rats only cost $0.02 whereas a level 1 Exploding Dwarf is worth $0.51. Perhaps, the reason for such a big price discrepancy is in the area of battle utility. However, for me, if I will choose between the two, in terms of pricing I would prefer Exploding Rats.

Comparing the two cards especially when they reach level 3, I don’t see any logical justification for the high pricing of Exploding Dwarf. At the same level, Exploding Rats are far ahead in two key numbers, and yet when it comes to pricing, Exploding Dwarf is 810.71% more expensive than Exploding Rats. In terms of speed and collection power, Exploding Rats are far superior. The only advantage Exploding Dwarf has is the addition of Piercing ability. To me, this is a price anomaly that a player must take advantage.

As a result of this analysis, I actually bought 10 more Exploding Rats at $0.019 per piece and upgraded them to level four.

Since Exploding Rats are rare monsters, by buying 10 cards, I added 200 collection power to my holdings. I now have a level 4 Exploding Rats with 500 collection power!

In the coming days, I intend to upgrade it to level 5 to have an additional ability – Redemption!

Battle Lineup

Battle Link

Ruleset:

Melee Mayhem: Melee attack monsters can attack from any position.

This is the reason why I selected both Exploding Dwarf and Exploding Rats. With the additional health and Melee attack from Tarsa, these two cards evolved into becoming more lethal. Matched with their speed, especially in the case of Exploding Rats, the first attack advantage mostly determines the final outcome of the game.

Mana Cap: 20

Though not an ideal mana cap for high-powered cards, this limitation is good for those cards that have low mana but are powerful. This is the good thing about Splinterlands. This is not a one-dimensional game. You need to be versatile. Your card collection must include different varieties of cards that will meet the unexpected rule set when it comes.

Tank: Living Lava

Living Lava is my preferred tank. Though slow, this tank is strong and reliable against Melee and Ranged attackers to protect the first position due to its Shield ability.

Second Position: Furious Chicken

image.png

Furious Chicken is a diversion against Opportunity Monsters. In a way, this seemingly useless monster buys time to protect a strategic ally with low health.

Third Position: Exploding Dwarf

image.png

I prefer to put Exploding Dwarf in the third position because it is slower compared to Exploding Rats. By doing this, Exploding Dwarf is in the safest position compared to other three members of the team.

Last Position: Exploding Rats

I consider his speed as his strongest battle asset. With this ability, there is a big chance that he can escape a Sneak attacker.

Battle Results

This is a fight between fire and life splinters, between Tarsa and General Sloan. This battle lasts only for two rounds.

First Round

Exploding Rats had the first attack advantage due to their speed. With that attack, they also deducted two health from Venari Crystalsmith, the healer of the other team. Scavo Hireling added two shields to protect their tank, but Exploding Dwarf just smashed them with four Melee attacks and ended up killing Venari Crystalsmith.

Round Two

With Exploding Rats’ second attack, Scavo Hireling was out of the game. Exploding Dwarf gave the death blow both to Shieldbearer and Gargoya Scrapper.

These two fire cards are indeed powerful in this kind of rule set. A player must own and use them in situations like this.

How about you? Have you tried using both Exploding Dwarf and Exploding Rats in your game? How did the battle end?
