How To Handle Ruleset Noxious Fumes (Poison) Using Usut New Soulbound Card
Hello Everyone, today I will make a blog again about the battle which I think is interesting, using a new unit from Soulbound Card. You can read more about this Splinterlands contest here Social Media Challenge.
Before the Soulbound card came out in the Death element to deal with the Noxious Fumes ruleset we usually used the following 3 attacking monsters which were immune to poison and also had the Heal ability:
With the release of the Soulbound card Usut we have a new strategy that we will discuss in this battle.
I play in the Modern Format Diamond League, using my scholar account from Balthazar I only use cheap cards like Chaos, Reward, and some Neutral.

Ruleset
Armored Up, All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat.
Heavy Hitters, all monsters have the Knock Out ability.- Knock Out ability, does double damage when attacking a stunned enemy.
Noxious Fumes: All monsters have started a battle with poison status, starting at round 2 the HP will decrease -2 each round. mana cap. can use element Fire, Earth, and Death.
My Lineup and strategy
Some guidelines we can use :
Noxious Fumes ruleset we can use monsters with the abilities:
- Immunity, (immune to negative status including poison) several examples of units with this ability:
- Heal, monsters that can heal other monsters or can heal themselves:
- Cleanse, removes all negative/poison effects on monsters in position 1:.
- Scavenger (every time a monster/unit dies, its HP will increase by 1) :
- Martyr, if this monster dies it will increase all the base stats of the surrounding monsters.
- Another ability that we can use but may not be suitable for this battle Life Leech (every time a monster attacks, it will increase its HP depending on the damage it produces) or Redemption (every time this monster dies will damage armor / HP the enemy monster by -1 :
- Immunity, (immune to negative status including poison) several examples of units with this ability:
Armored Up ruleset it's good to have some armor but it means our range and melee attack will need to attack at least twice to destroy the armor and decrease their HP, perfect time to use some magic. which ignores armor and damages the HP immediately.
For the ruleset Heavy Hitters we do not pay attention because to me the result to much random, better to use good formation depending on the Armored Up and Noxious Fumes rulesets. But we do bring a monster with Stun ability the Revealer not because of this ruleset but because have Immunity ability.
we can use monsters with the Immunity, Heal, and Martyr abilities. Our Line up:
| Summoner or monster | Abilities | Description | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Astral Entity, Summoner. Can decrease the enemy armor by -2, Give Dodge ability to ally monsters, and have Resurrect ability. | We used this Death summoner because have Resurrect ability (brings back friendly monsters who die with 1 HP and full armor if have it) to boost the effect of our Martyr monster in the 1st position. It has Dodge ability (increases chance to evade the enemy melee and range attack by 25%) The decrease in the enemy armor will cancel the effect of the Armored Up ruleset. | ||
| Venari Marksrat, 1st position, Support, has the ability Martyr and Ensnare. | We used this monster to boost the stats of the Usut in the 2nd position. we put it here to make sure that this monster dies first before any monster, so the Resurrect ability from the summoner and monster we bring will affect this monster.. If this monster dies all the stats of the monster adjacent to it will increase because of the Martyr ability. The Ensnare ability will disable the Flying ability from the enemy monster who got attacked by this monster, but in this battle is useless because we put this range unit in the first position so it can't attack. | ||
| Usut, 2nd position, attacker and tanker. Has the ability Flying, Bloodlust, Oppress, and Heal. | This will become our main tanker and attacker after receiving a boost from the Venari Marksrat. With the Heal ability, this monster can handle the effect of Noxious Fume ruleset. Flying ability will increase this monster's chance by 25% to evade the enemy melee/range attack. **Oppress **will double damage against the enemy who doesn't have any attack. Bloodlust ability will increase all basic stats of this monster by +1 (like Martyr ability but trigger when this monster kills the enemy). | ||
| Harklaw,3rd position, attacker and tanker. Has the ability Shield, Immunity, and Demoralize. | This is our second main tanker for this Ruleset Noxious Fumres , With Immunity this monster is immune to all negative statuses, like Poison Blind, Demoralize, etc. With the ability Shield will decrease the melee/range damage by 50%, if the enemy only has 1 melee damage this monster will ignore the damage. This monster has Demoralize ability to further decrease all enemy melee monster damage by -1. | ||
| Revealer, 4th position, attacker. Has the ability Stun, Immunity, and Reflection Shield. | This is our 2nd monster who has an Immunity ability like Harklaw. This monster is weak against attack and easy to die so we put it here to be safe from attack. Hope can stun the enemy and activate the Heavy Hitters ruleset. Have Reflection Shield ability to nullify the effect of the Blast/Magic Reflect. | . | |
| that make it difficult to predict the direction of the attack because of the Scattershot ability they attack random monsters, so if we are unlucky then our monsters at the back will be dealt with first. Also, our attackers have difficulty hitting their tankers Void Dragon who can dodge all attacks including magic:
