Greetings to all Splinterlands players! this is my entry for BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! this is a popular event held by Splinterlands every week. The theme today is about the ruleset Back to Basic. Monsters lose all abilities. Summoner effects are still active (Yodin Zaku, Mylor, etc).
This is a battle in the Modern Format Champion League, I played with my scholar account from Balthazar.
The guide presents a strategy on how to advance through the ranks by utilizing reasonably priced or cheap-to-rent monsters that can still prove effective.

There is some guideline we can use :
Fortunately, we don't have Mylor because at maks level it's an expensive monster for rent or buy, so we choose Jacek.
The enemy line up :
This is our lineup from left (first position) to right (last position) :
So as not to confuse we'll call all the monsters we use attackers. Because in the end the melee monster we used can be used as a tanker. In the normal ruleset (monsters can use abilities) usually this monster can be a tanker. Except for Tenyii Striker usually use as an attacker only.

| Legionnaire Alvar 2nd posiiton, attacker | In case the Tusk the Wide die, this will become 2nd tanker because has high Armor. |
| Grum Flameblade, 3rd position, attacker. | High damage monster his main task is to decrease the enemy HP monster but can be a tanker too. this monster has very high HP and good armor. But the speed is slow, let's hope the attack does not miss when attacking the enemy. |
| Tenyii Striker, 4th position, attacker. | This monster is easy to die so put in this position behind high HP and Armor monster. Tenyii Strike has high speed and great damage so I used it. |
| Forgotten One, 5th position, attacker. | This monster has very high damage, good armor and HP. This is our main attacker, we hope with this monster can decrease a lot of enemy HP. |
| Disintegrator, 6th position, attacker. | This monster use as tanker the damage is not that big, but has an okay armor dan HP. |

Rounds 4-5 :
Nothing happened in round 4 only the monsters kept attacking each other so we skipped to round 5.

Tusk the Wide was killed by our Tusk the Wide.

With the death of Grum Flameblade, victory is on our side.
Our strategy of using the summoner Jacek which increases speed and gives the ability Piercing to all of our monsters coupled with using monsters that have armor and focus fire on attacking monsters in the last position worked well. Enemies in the last position can be killed quickly.
The enemy carries a monster with a magic attack which in my opinion is a mistake because by using the summoner Jacek the attacks become random if you are not lucky it will hit monsters that still have large HP, like in this battle, Magi of Chaos' attack hits Tenyii Striker and Legionnaire Alvar and both of them are still alive and give the opportunity to attack the enemy in the last position first.
Immortalis
I want to try this summoner because has a Shatter ability, with this ability the enemy armor will be completely destroyed if hit by an attack no matter how big the armor is, and HP decreased by 1 is useful in melee battle.
The Problem is, this monster does not give any speed buff, so we may have trouble hitting the enemy, and maybe our monster will die first and not have a chance to attack. I think this is an interesting Summoner to try.
