Splinterlands Mystery Card Challenge #2 ~ Winner: @seeweed

SPLMysteryCard.gif

Last week's Mystery Card Challenge may have been way too easy. It got solved in less than seven minutes after I published the post. 😅

The Epic card Lava Launcher was awarded to dtam. It's a high-attack Fire splinter ranged monster that's a staple in big mana fights. The succeeding prize cards may not be as glamorous, but I hope winners will still find a place for them in their decks.

I contemplated whether I'd make the puzzle difficult but chose otherwise for my first attempt. It's not that I'm underestimating the wits of my fellow players. I was just doubtful that people would read my posts. 🤣 So I assumed no one would find the challenge ... at least not that soon. I thought it would take several days to get comments from readers.

This week's challenge is still relatively easy but not as straightforward as the first one. I'd be blabbering about random Splinterland stuff next. So you could go ahead and jump to the The Mystery Card Giveaway Challenge section if you want to try solving the hidden message right away.

Good luck!

The Legacy of Gold Obsidian

When I found out that the Gold Obsidian I randomly got from a rewards pack was selling for as high as $33, I was immediately tempted to trade it. Obsidian is a great summoner, but I don't exactly need the Gold version for battles, right?

Gold Obsidian's sacrifice would be forever remembered as it paved the way for these other awesome cards.

ChaosDragonUnite.jpg

Chaos Dragon. I had to buy three cards to combine them into level 2. The legendary monster's Scattershot and Blast combo is nasty --- an unavoidable five or seven-point magic damage (unless there's Void). You can check out my battle challenge post to see it in action.

OshannusUnite.jpg

Djinn Oshannus. I already had two of these from chest rewards. 😋 So, I only needed one more to upgrade it to level 2. The legendary Water Djinn is extremely fast at a five-speed stat, so the unlocked Phase skill becomes more effective.

ChwalaUnite.jpg

Djinn Chwala. I rarely use this Dragon monster since there's not a lot of room for regular melee fighters in a team. But I only needed one more card to raise it to level 3, so I decided to no longer rely on rewards pull and just buy the last one. Besides, it was very cheap, so it wasn't a painful purchase.

Here's the tally of my total purchases. I really gained a lot more by letting go of one card. I bought several Venari Crystalsmith too to raise it to level 4 and get its two-point attack.

CardCountPrice per CardTotal
Chaos Dragon3$9.50$28.50
Djinn Oshannus1$2.85$2.85
Djinn Chwala1$0.35$0.35
Venari Crystalsmith8$0.09$0.72
Total$32.42

I bought these cards cheaper than the usual market rates because I used Peakmonster's Bid Feature. If you are not in a hurry to get your cards, you can try placing bids. It only took me around a day of waiting to complete the transaction. To know the step-by-step process, you can read libertycrypto27's post on how to make a bid. 👍

Preparing for Season-End

The season is ending in less than 24 hours. I've already arranged my last day rentals and boosted my Power for Diamond III league. It was tough to get my Rating high enough, though. I barely made it, so even if I still got some high Collection Power, I'll be forgoing battles for now. I worry that I'd fall below the Diamond Rating and waste all my rental expenses. 😣

Why do players make an effort to raise their league rank? It's all about the rewards, of course. 😁
If I reach Diamond III, there's a one out of 57 chests that I'll nab one Chaos Legion booster pack. It's not guaranteed, but it's still a high likelihood.

If I get plenty more decent loot, I'll make more of these challenges in the future. And on that note ... let the mystery card challenge begin.
