A good time to get started again

Have you seen Splinterlands rental prices? They're really cheap. Now that Chaos Legion summoners are on the rental market, renting a manageable ranked collection is on anyone's budget. I've bought 3 level 2 summoners just to get started - for a total of $25. Then I looked them up. Damn, I wish I had rented Malric for $0.06 daily instead of spending 15 dollars on a level 2 Tarsa. Sure, Tarsa is stronger, but I could rent her for $0.15 daily. I'm talking about level 3 rentals, not level 2 like the ones I had bought.

What do I think about this? I think it's great. Long term holders continue having valuable assets even if just for the fact that they're worth collection power. Beginners don't have to spend a lot in summoners just to get a little bit of profit. All that a player needs to get started is CP. We can just buy $100 of whatever is the most cost-efficient card for collection power, then rent what we want to use in the arena for less than $10.

Sure, we can also rent collection power, but it's cumbersome. A $100 investment for a new player is acceptable. If a newbie really doesn't want to spend $100, they still get the option of going through all the trouble of getting their rentals canceled almost every day, since rentals are a lot more expensive as the season comes to a close.
