[Life Sapper] Share your Battle challenge (1)

First attempt at the Life Sapper share your battle challenge, A Magic damage unit with life leach which allows it to increase its base hp on damaging the opponent's units, a slightly weaker version of the vernari bonesmith however has its own strengths.

Battle rules

SymbolRule Effect
All Monsters have 2 Armor in addition to their normal Armor stat.
The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled Monster is killed.

Total Mana : 50
Usable elements : Fire, Life and Death

Quite a high bit of mana for this battle, there is the ruleset for 2 point of armor which makes magic quite a good choice unless they use grandmaster rathe which gives void armor which makes it harder for magic units, well I am going to take a risk and push for a mostly magic damage team to bypass the armor values.

Team Composition

CardRoleReason
SummonerThaddius Brood Choosen for the -1 to both the enemy's hp and magic damage since there is a free 2 points of armor from the rules
Main tank, Thorns, Self HealCursed Windeku with its thorns it will hurt those melee unit that attack it plus it has self healing allowing it to tank for longer
Magic Reflect, Void Armor, Giant KillerDjinn Muirat there is a chance that giant killer will be used since the mana does allow for those big mana units to be used plus if they do play a magic based team its magic reflect will work wonders
Life Leach, PoisonVenari Bonesmith with both life leach and poison its will be quite painful since poison will cause the unit to suffer 2 points of damage each turn
Magic damage, Life Leach, Star of the ChallengeLife Sapper the star of the hour with its life leach it does grow its hp with every attack and if it lasts for a while its hp will grow to be quite a big amount
Snare, Opportunity , SwiftnessLira the Dark with its snare and opportunity it will aid in bring down those flying units and take out those weak units plus the speed boost from swiftness does help in keeping the team alive and allowing for first strikes
Flying, CrippleCthulhu with cripple it will lower the max hp of units which is great on those tank with self heal reducing their max hp would reduce their heal per turn and flying allows it to dodge those non flying units with an advantage

Now on to the Battle

Round 1

Pretty lucky that the opponent went with General Sloan instead of grandmaster rathe allowing for my magic units to bypass their armor since their main tank uriel has quite a decent amount of shields and they do have a resurrection unit so if they had void armor quite a bit of the damage would have been negated and they do have armor repair stopping more of my damage.

Snare showed its value this round by bring one of their flying unit to the ground sadly there is no earthquake rule else it would have been much better haha

The round ended with me losing my main tank while bringing their main tank down to quite a low amount of health.

Round 2 & 3

The armor gained from the ruleset is pretty useful against the opponent due to most of their team damage is ranged which will hit armor first plus my summoner did reduce the magic damage they deal which is another nice factor

Their uriel fell this turn and got revived but since it does not have void armor it was immediately got executed by another one of my magic damage units.
Those life leach did make those magic unit on my team be better tank since they started with much lower amount of hp and due to the leaching they are still alive after being attacked.

The rounds end with me losing another 2 of my units while my opponent lost 3 units which makes the number of units on each team even however their remanding units consist of 2 range attacker and 1 magic attacker.

Round 4 to The Last Round

The round ended in my favor as soon as their magic damage unit fell since their range units do not have close combat while I still have 1 magic damage unit in the back allowing for an easy clean up since they are unable to fight back.

Strategy Talk

The strategy was revolves around using the properties of the magic attack which ignores armor since the extra armor given by the ruleset does prevent most units from touching the health in the attack unless they have piercing, however it was risky since their is the grandmaster rathe who does give void armor which would have greatly change the outcome of the battle

Life Sapper its feel to me a weaker venari bonesmith at gold level since the stats are mostly the same but venari bonesmith has poison but at sliver level life sapper has more damage which is great as venari bonesmith at level 4 only have 1 attack which can be negated by void while life sapper has 2 at level 4, its an odd card so you can use it odd ones out while venari bonesmith can be used in the even version

Good ruleset to use in:

RulesetExplanation
Holy Protectiondouble edged sword it a free negate for damage since it does not have a armor but prevent its from hitting its target as well
Odd Ones OutSince its an odd Mana card it works in this ruleset
Explosive WeaponryDouble edged sword since it allows it to hit for more damage at the same time increases the amount of damage it receives allows for more hp gain
Armored Upprotects it and since its a magic attacker its great
Keep your Distancesmagic unit so it can be used
Target practicesGains snipe
