"What is that smell?"
A new episode of Splinterlands comic featuring Chaos Knight and its little brother. It was a normal day, just casually doing their own stuff. Chaos Knight is cleaning his room and re organizing the set up of it. He is experimenting what is the best location of its computer table. While his little brother is at the living room watching a new episode of its favorite show.
Few minutes later, Chaos Knight smelled something weird. He went out of his room to check it. But could not figure it out, so he asked his little brother.
"Hey do you smell that?", ask by Chaos Knight
His little brother was irritated and responded " Yeah fine! I'll take a bath after this episode". The little brother thought he was the one that smells weird, so he promised that he will take a bath after.
They did not know that it was their stove burning their food. They forgot about it. Hopefully, they will notice it immediately.
PROOF OF WORK
Creating the outline of Chaos Knight, our first character for this comic. My initial plan was just a one character set up and the main topic will be Chaos Knight being late at work because he went up all night playing games. However, a new idea popped up in my mind while creating the background. Then I decided to change my main topic into this one "What is that smell". The idea is they smell something weird and could not figure it out.
They did not know it was their food burning.
Adding details, like the curls on his hair. Its curly hair could be perfect for my first idea. A messy hair with eye bags when he arrived at work.
Creating the outline of its eyes and eye brows.
The outline of its clothes is done. Usually, I used the main clothes or armor of the character. But for this one, I used a comfy clothes since the settings is at the house and it will set the mood into a normal rest day. Next is the details at the background. This will be animated later.
Outline of the pot and stove. This will be the main event for this comic. It will be animated with fire.
Creating the outline of the second character, the little brother of Chaos Knight. I decided to create another character because I thought that the essence of the joke will be complete by two characters. Behind the second character is a sofa. I want to show that this character is sitting in front of a television busy watching its favorite show. This is perfect because he is distracted by the TV and will not immediately realize that it was their food burning that smells. And not him because he did not take a bath.
Adding details on the second character. Like its hair and face. This second character has a different hair style. It shows that this two brothers have different personality.
Coloring the first character's hair.
Adding colors on its clothes and body. The blue color was a perfect choice for me. It is super calm and relaxing.
Adding some highlights on its hair to show the curls.
Coloring the second character. I have added a new detail on the clothes of the second character.
Details for the background.
Adding the eyes of the second character.
For the animation part, creating the outline of the flame.
Adding another shade for the fire.
Adjusting the opacity, as a guide when doing the next position of the fire on the next frame.
