The Noxious Fumes Ruleset - Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge!

Greetings to all and sundry on this great platform, I welcome you all to my blog and today I write to participate in this week's battle mage secrets weekly challenge. I am very happy to be part of the Splinterlands family. I hope that you guys would like my entry. Without much ado, I would like to go straight to the purpose of this post. Today, the battle ruleset is "Noxious Fumes" and I would submit my entry to that here in this post including a video of my battle.

Per the ruleset of the game, All Monsters start the battle Poisoned. I used my account @abu78 to participate in this battle. I play in the Silver league of the Wild Format. Before I demonstrate the battle here, let's briefly examine the game's Ruleset.

Ruleset IconDescription
Noxious Fumes
All Monsters start the battle Poisoned. Higher HP and cleanse are the best choices. However, there may be some cases where you go for a big offensive attack and wipe out your opponent before the poison becomes a factor.
Closed Range
Ranged attacks may be used in the first position in battles. You can use high HP or high-speed Ranged monsters at position 2 (or even at position 1 if it has Heal). Choose summoners that bonus Ranged attack or speed and then choose high-damage Ranged attack monsters. Beware that your opponent might pick Lir Deepswimmer as a summoner or monsters with Return Fire. High HP and Heal are the way to go in this ruleset.
Back to Basics
Monsters lose all abilities. Back-row monsters are safe from the enemy's Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity attacks. The ruleset emphasizes Magic and Ranged attacks as melee attacks lose their ability to hit outside of the first position. Select monsters with high speed and choose a summoner that increases damage or defense against Magic or Ranged attacks. Lining up monsters in ascending order of their health is the way to go.

Summoner:

I chose the "Mylor Crowling summoner". It was a 12-mana game condition and I had to manage my card selection to suit that. I chose the Mylor Crowling summoner so that my monsters would have the thorns ability but unfortunately, my opponent also brought the same summoner. My team lineup comprised Fungus Fiend, and Grund.

1st Position:

Fungus Fiend, this card has the martyr ability. It is an 0-mana monster with a speed of 1, 1 melee attack damage, and 2 health with 0 armor protection.

What Transpired in the Battle:

First, monsters took their effect from the summoner by gaining the thorn's ability. My opponent's lineup comprised one monster and that is the Quora Towershead.

In the first round, the Quora Towershead monster with the highest speed attacked first and eliminated my first-position monster. After that, it then melee attacked the Grund Montser and was inflicted with two thorns damage. The Grund monster also attacked and was inflicted as well.

Round 2: In this round, the Quora Towershead monster had five health remaining after the Noxious Fumes effect took place. My monster was left with 4 health.

After the two rounds of attacks from the Quora Towershead monster, my last position monster was eliminated as well and I was defeated at the end of the battle.
