Writing between love and letters:Fate at la Belle Epoque

Maria sat on a well-decorated couch in her hotel room. Warm colors and decadent wallpapers filled the room. It was 1st January, 1990, she had traveled from Spain to Paris to enjoy the beauty of the la Belle epoque. On a woody stool was a letter wrapped with a red ribbon. She let out a beautiful smile. The waitress had told her the letter came from a stranger who had lounged in the room downstairs. "Care for a coffee?,"* The stranger had written. She pondered for a while and concluded it was no harm having a simple coffee with a stranger , at least the hotel was secure.

Brian, the stranger, had come to Paris for the same purpose. He was at the bar downstairs drinking some beer when he saw this lady walk past him with her briefcase, she was dressed in a black turtleneck, and a cream trench coat. She was tall with perfect curves, so he thought as he stared at her until she disappeared into her room. It wasn't just her perfect body nor was it her beauty and sense of dressing, he had this strong urge that there was something beautiful about her that captivated him.

He lied on his bed thinking about the beautiful girl he had seen earlier in the day. It was good he got to know her, he thought lying on his bed. He became anxious for the day to break, he wanted to see her again. He smiled when his eyes caught a caption in the decoration of the wall written, "a place to find love". Indeed, he said while tucking the end of the blanket.

"It's good you've honored my invitation, sorry I was too straight " Brian said, giving out his hands to Maria who looked a bit dazed. The letter had no description nor a name to identify who had sent it, she was hoping to meet the waitress who had delivered it for details.

"Uhm.., uhm.." Maria fumbled trying to get her voice.

"I'm maria" she finally said, receiving his offer of a handshake.

"I'm Brian" he replied.

"You sent that letter?" She asked.

"Yes, I did. Please sit" offering her a vacant seat.

While sipping the hot coffee Brian had ordered for them both, they discussed and soon realized they had so many things in common. They both love arts and it was the beautiful decorations filled with artwork that had drawn them both to la Belle epoque. It was one of their best moments as they talked about their children's memories , laughing about their good old days. They became so fond of each other, and they had this conviction, destiny had brought them here to meet more than just the beauty of the connoisseur.
