The genus Bothrogonia is a small group of beetles in the Cerambycidae family known for their colored wings and long antenna, species in this genus are usually found in Central America, Africa and Southeast Asia. This small species has a slender body with attractive color patterns, so making them attractive to insect collectors, further study of the behavior and ecology of these species may provide deeper insight into biodiversity in tropical regions.

The genus Bothrogonia consists of more than 30 species that have been described scientifically, these beetles have distinctive morphological characteristics, including antennae that are very prominent so they look attractive and elegant, these long antennae function for finding mates and locating food sources in their diverse environment which often includes dead wood or infected plants.
