Flores de bolsas plásticas / Plastic bag flowers
Les mostraré dos modelos de flores aunque básicamente se cumplen los mismos pasos.
I will show you two models of flowers although basically the same steps are fulfilled.
Recursos / Resources
Los materiales son pocos y regularmente tenemos en casa:
-Bolsas plásticas amarillas y blancas
-Alambre (Utilicé el alambre de un cuaderno)
-Tijera
-Silicón
-Tubos de papel para cestería. En este caso, hay que hacerlos como he explicado en posts anteriores.
The materials are few and we regularly have at home:
-Yellow and white plastic bags.
-Wire (I used the wire from a notebook)
-Scissors
-Silicone
-Paper tubes for basketry. In this case, you have to make them as I have explained in previous posts.
Proceso / Process
La flor / The flower
- Retirar la base y las asas a las bolsas.
- Remove the base and handles from the bags.
- Doblar por la mitad y volver a doblar para cortar formando un rectángulo. Cortar por todos los extremos.
- Fold in half and fold again to cut forming a rectangle. Cut at all ends.
- Tomar cuatro rectángulos y doblar por la parte más pequeña como si fuera un abanico.
- Sujetar con un alambre por la mitad.
A- Sin corte en las puntas B- Con corte en las puntas.
- Fasten with a wire through the middle.
A- Without cutting at the ends B- With cutting at the ends.
- Separar hoja por hoja para formar la flor. Si es necesario hacer pequeños cortes para nivelar y hacer que quede prolijo, quedaría como un pompón.
- Separate leaf by leaf to form the flower. If necessary make small cuts to level and make it neat, it would look like a pompom.
- Introducir el alambre por un pitillo de papel para crear el tallo de la flor.
- Insert the wire through a paper straw to create the stem of the flower.
Las hojas / The leaves
- Tomar una bolsa de color verde y otra de color negro o marrón para quitarle las asas y la base. Recortar dos rectángulos de la bolsa verde y un cuadrado de la bolsa negra. Colocar de la siguiente manera: doblar el rectángulo formando un cuadrado, para poner el cuadrado negro en el medio de los verdes.
- Take a green bag and a black or brown bag and remove the handles and base. Cut out two rectangles from the green bag and one square from the black bag. Place in the following way: fold the rectangle forming a square, to put the black square in the middle of the green ones.
- Colocar entre dos hojas de papel y planchar para integrar estos elementos quedando plastificado.
- Place between two sheets of paper and iron to integrate these elements, leaving them laminated.
- Cortar las hojas y pegar un pedazo de alambre.
- Cut the leaves and glue a piece of wire.
- Fijar las hojas al tallo de la flor enrollando el alambre y luego pegar un tubito de papel envolviendo para ocultar el alambre.
- Attach the leaves to the stem of the flower by rolling the wire and then glue a small tube of wrapping paper to hide the wire.
Debido al poco tiempo que me quedaba solamente logré hacer dos flores las cuales elaboré después de regresar de una marcha de protesta en mi país. Las flores quedaron coquetas, me gustaron mucho y es posible que en otro momento realice otras usando el mismo material.

Haciendo la técnica de plastificado para la elaboración de las hojas, la lámina me salió mala porque calenté mucho la plancha. Tuve que hacerla de nuevo. Miren como quedó.

Es increíble las cosas que podemos hacer usando material reciclable, desde algo tan sencillo a algo más complejo, todo depende de la creatividad. Por ejemplo en la ciudad de Guatire, Miranda, Venezuela hicieron un gran y vistoso mural que está catalogado como el más grande del mundo, hecho con tapas plásticas de diversos envases. Con las bolsas plásticas podemos hacer tejidos y una diversidad de flores, entre otras cosas que se pueden crear.
It is incredible the things we can do using recyclable material, from something so simple to something more complex, it all depends on creativity.
