New numbers as the world approaches 2 million cases confirmed of Covid-19

It's hard to believe the numbers are already this bad, we approach 2 million cases today. Soon deaths will outnumber those so far from seasonal flu.

Per https://www.worldometers.info/ as of today the total number of deaths from seasonal flu in 2020 is 138,224.
I think it was naive of anyone to make the claim that Covid-19 was not as bad as the flu. Unfortunately it looks like in a matter of days or weeks they will be proven wrong, and when this ends it will be by a significant margin, not to mention the errors in reporting from Iran, China etc.

It is definitely possible that people with a very short amount of time to live were recorded as dying from symptoms of covid-19 without being tested, and I mean from a numbers perspective the deaths in the rest of the world may be inflated. it would be interesting to know how many people without terminal illnesses died of covid-19 and of the proportion with terminal illnesses how many had fewer than 6 months to live before they ultimately and unfortunately passed on.

It's nice to see an update on the below website showing the number of tests in my nearest neighbour America. They have tested less than 1 % of the population so far but still have tested A lot of people. if they got testing up to 5-10% of the population in all countries we would likely see a clearer picture and daily increases going down.

As of 7pm Pacific time on 13th of April 2020, the number of reported deaths worldwide is 119,588, recoveries are at 448,988 leaving 1,350,279 outstanding cases.

I pray every day that covid goes away, people heal well and aren't left with scarred lungs.

I listened to a podcast from a doctor about the information we have about one of the drugs (hydrixychloroquine) potentially available for treating the virus. He doesn't believe the "trial" for want of a better word is good science. Listen to the podcast below or on whatever podcast source you listen to "Heme review"
