alternatetext

She's the Man is a 2006 American romantic comedy teen sports film directed by Andy Fickman and starring Amanda Bynes, Channing Tatum, Laura Ramsey, Vinnie Jones, and David Cross. Inspired by William Shakespeare's play Twelfth Night, the film centers on teenager Viola Hastings, who enters her brother's new boarding school, Illyria Prep, in his place and pretends to be a boy in order to play on the boys' soccer team.

Viola's brother, Sebastian, has been expelled from Cornwall Prep for skipping classes, and he plans to visit London secretly to enter a contest with his rock band. Sebastian asks Viola to cover for him by telling the school that he is sick and each of their parents (who are divorced) that he is staying with the other.

Viola agrees to help her brother, and she cuts her hair and disguises herself as a boy. She enrolls at Illyria Prep and joins the boys' soccer team. Viola quickly becomes a star player, and she also gains the attention of the team's captain, Duke Orsino.

Duke is also attracted to Olivia Lennox, another student at Illyria Prep. However, Olivia is initially interested in Sebastian, who she believes is a boy. As the film progresses, Viola must navigate her new life as a boy, her growing feelings for Duke, and the complications that arise when Sebastian unexpectedly returns to school.

She's the Man is a fun and heartwarming film about identity, gender roles, and the pursuit of your dreams. It is a film that can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages.
