$ 4.2 billion

Hello everyone! 😎

This post is in response to the ED weekly posting topic started by @beeber earlier this year. I don't know why she started the year with money. Maybe because she already knows something? 😀 😀

Basically, I have 4,200.000.000 dollars. So what do I do with it now?

I don't know, in fact, I have no idea how much it is. And quantitatively and financially. It cannot be physical money, I mean banknotes, but just in an account or several accounts. Just for example, NASA's budget in 2022 was $25 billion (source).

I still cannot imagine the quantities. I will keep trying. A few more examples, approximate, to try to visualize:

  • 17 Airbus A330 aircraft, if the aircraft is $240 million
  • 102 500 Tesla Model 3 cars, if it costs about $41 000
  • 2,100.000 laptops with Intel Core i9 processor with NVIDIA graphics if it costs 2000$

One more example perhaps, namely, the total Hive virtual supply (including HBD) liquid and staked is currently about $500.000.000 (source), so somewhere around 8x less.

Huh, too much of everything. And that's what I'm supposed to have? I don't think I really need all that money.

Well, let's say I'm altruistic by nature and I want to do something good for everyone in the world. How to do that?

And I asked the current little god. Of course, ChatGPT :) 😁

How to distribute $4.2 billion fairly?

It depends on the circumstances and the objectives you have in distributing this money. If you want to distribute the money to different people or organizations, there are different ways to do this, such as:

  • Equal distribution: the money is divided equally among all the recipients.
  • Based on need: The money is distributed according to the needs of the individuals or organizations.
  • Based on contribution: The money is distributed according to the contribution of individuals or organizations to a specific cause or project.

A combination of the above approaches: money can be distributed in several ways, such as evenly, according to need, and according to contribution.

Choosing how to distribute the money can be challenging and requires thinking about the goals and values you want to achieve. You may want to seek advice from someone who has experience in distributing money or consult others who have an interest in the process.

If I gave $0.5 to everyone in the world?

This would be a very challenging task, as there are currently more than 7 billion people in the world.

Distributing the money to such a large number of people would require good organization and logistics to ensure that it could be distributed efficiently and fairly. This could include setting up an appropriate mechanism to distribute the money and ensure that it reaches those who need it most.

You could also think of other ways to help those in need, such as donating money to specific projects or causes that will benefit a wider group of people. Perhaps money could be spent on education projects, health care, or supporting young entrepreneurs whose work could benefit the wider community.

What would be best? Education projects or support for entrepreneurs? How would you arrange it?

Choosing the best way to distribute the money depends on the goals and values you want to achieve. If you wanted to use the money to support educational projects, you could do this in different ways. For example, you could use the money to build schools or to pay teachers and other education staff to provide quality education in schools.

Supporting entrepreneurs can also be an effective way to encourage community development and growth. This could be done by providing entrepreneurs with financial support to start or grow their businesses, or by providing them with mentoring and other forms of support to help them succeed.

If either of these options is chosen, an appropriate organization or fund could be set up to manage the money and spend it on specific projects or purposes. Alternatively, you could work with existing organizations working on similar objectives to help them fund their projects. In any case, it would be important to think about the objectives you want to achieve and how the money could best be spent to achieve them.

What would you have to do if the goal was to end all ongoing wars?

If the goal were to end all ongoing wars, this would be an extremely challenging and complex task, as wars are often the result of deep and complex causes such as economic differences, political differences, ethnic tensions and so on.

One way of trying to prevent wars could be through international cooperation and diplomacy. This could include:

  • Mediating between the conflicting parties and helping to find solutions to their disputes.

  • Supporting and cooperating with international organizations working on conflict and peace promotion.

  • Promoting and supporting international legal frameworks aimed at protecting human rights and preventing violence.

  • Funding projects that support peace and international cooperation, such as educational projects, projects to improve economic opportunities, etc.

In any case, it would be important to take into account the different perspectives and interests of the conflicting parties when seeking solutions to conflicts and to try to find solutions that benefit everyone.

But is such a goal even reasonable given its complexity and difficulty?

The goal of ending all wars may be extremely challenging and complex, but that does not mean it is not reasonable. Wars can have very serious consequences for individuals and communities, including loss of life, injury, economic hardship, and other negative consequences. Therefore, preventing war and promoting peace can be important and meaningful objectives.

While it may be difficult to achieve a complete end to all wars, we can still try to take steps towards this goal and try to reduce the number of wars and conflicts taking place around the world. We can do this by addressing the causes that lead to wars and finding ways to resolve them, and by supporting projects and actions that promote peace and international cooperation.

Well, I have stopped asking questions here. But I've got a clearer picture. It's not for me :)

I hope this has given you some food for thought.

Thank you for your attention.
