TODAY'S ACTIVITIES // Taking Part in a Community Clean-Up for a Cleaner Village

During my stay in my uncle's village, I took part in many events and activities organized by the village, one of which was a community clean-up. In this post, I would like to share my experience of working side by side with the local residents to clean the village, without being paid, as everything was done wholeheartedly and with sincere intentions.
Personally, I believe that a community clean-up is not just about working together to clean the village environment, but also about togetherness, strengthening relationships among residents, and fostering a sense of care for the surrounding environment.
It was not only the adults who took part in the community clean-up, but also the young children who joined in and worked together. No matter how big the task is, it will always become easier when we work together, and that is the truth. Everyone can choose their own part of the work according to their willingness, and the most important thing is having the willingness to do it from the heart.
At that time, some of my friends and I cleaned up the scattered rubbish along the village roads, then collected it near the edge of an oil palm plantation to be burned.
Cleaning the village may take quite a long time, but when everyone works together, the job can be finished much faster. After the community clean-up is over, the village becomes cleaner and more pleasant to look at, and all the tiredness seems to disappear.
Usually, after the community clean-up is finished, the residents gather in a place such as in front of the village head's office or the mosque to rest and enjoy some free refreshments, such as bread and drinks. It may seem simple, but it is this simplicity that brings happiness. Everything I have shared here is purely based on my own observations and personal experiences.
These photos were taken a few weeks ago, and I deliberately chose to share these two photos because they show the togetherness I shared with my friends in the village.
The evenings are also a wonderful time in the countryside because I can spend time with many friends, including people who are much older than me. We share stories, exchange knowledge, and offer advice to one another. Everything feels so warm and welcoming, and I really enjoy this kind of atmosphere.
