My hometown is full of historical places, it has a central area full of old houses, some facades have fallen due to not having received repairs in due time. They are large houses with a central patio and around the rooms. Some had a yard for horses.

The colonial houses have large windows and very high wooden doors, they had many rooms, they are accessed through a hallway to a very large patio full of trees.
Its construction dates from around 1790 and the streets were made of dirt.
In the central patio the families met to have a snack, there they received visitors and it was the coolest place in the house.
The Casa Fuerte was a Convent of the Missionaries of the Observant Fathers and is a heritage of our Colonial Barcelona, it became an important defensive structure during the war of independence. There the citizens took refuge before the attack of the royalists.
The Strong House was the only building in the city to have two floors and strong masonry and stone walls.
La Casa Fuerte, is a memory of the time of independence and within it is hidden the story of our heroine Eulalia Ramos Sánchez (her real name) but she changed it to Buroz's last name in order to mislead the royalists.
Eulalia Buroz de Chamberlain, as we know her in history, a very brave Venezuelan woman, was a member of the group close to the Liberator Simón Bolívar.
We have great schools with his name in the city of Barcelona.

Las casas coloniales tienen grandes ventanales y puertas de madera muy altas, tenían muchas habitaciones, se accede a ellas por un zaguán a un patio muy grande llenos de árboles.
Datan de alrededor de 1790 aproximadamente su construcción y las calles eran de tierra.
En el patio central se reunían las familias a tomar una merienda, allí recibían las visitas y era el lugar más fresco de la casa.
La casa Fuerte fue un Convento de los Misioneros de los Padres Observantes y es un patrimonio de nuestra Barcelona Colonial, se convirtió en una importante estructura defensiva durante la guerra de independencia. Allí se refugiaban los ciudadanos ante el ataque de los realistas.
La casa Fuerte era la única edificación de la ciudad en contar con dos pisos y tener fuerte paredes de mamposterías y piedra.
La Casa Fuerte, es un recuerdo de la época de la independencia y dentro de ella se esconde la historia de nuestra heroína Eulalia Ramos Sánchez (su nombre real) pero se lo cambio por el apellido a Buroz para así despistar a los realistas.
Eulalia Buroz de Chamberlain, como la conocemos en la historia, una mujer venezolana, muy aguerrida, fue miembro del grupo cercano al Libertador Simón Bolívar.
Tenemos grandes escuelas con su nombre en la ciudad de Barcelona.
La admiración por esta mujer que lucho defendiendo la ciudad, fue una de la fallecidas en esa cruentas luchas.
Se cuenta que un soldado le prometió salvarla si gritaba " Viva España, mueran los patriotas" . La joven respondió "Viva la Patria, mueran sus tiranos" y soltó un disparo.
