¡Hola, hola! ¿Cómo está la gente linda de Hive? Hoy les traigo mi segundo post de Crónicas Navideñas. Mi experiencia en la casa de mi suegra o como me gusta llamarla, La Casa De Los Gatos 🐱

Well and you will say why the house of cats? It is literally like that 😂 my husband's family is from La Guaira and we agreed to spend Christmas there and then New Year each one spends it at home.
The thing is that this year we didn't find someone who wanted to take care of Púa, so we had to go down with our precious baby and try to live 4 days in a small house with 5 house cats, two dogs and 4 cats from the beach 🙂
In hindsight maybe we should have thought better of it, but there was no time to think of another solution anymore.....
Bueno y ustedes dirán ¿Por qué la casa de los gatos? Es que literal es así 😂 la familia de mi esposo es de La Guaira y nosotros acordamos pasar las navidades allí y luego año nuevo cada quien lo pasa en su casa.
La cosa es que este año no encontramos alguien que quisiera cuidar a Púa, así que nos tocó bajar con nuestra preciosa bebé y tratar de convivir 4 días en una pequeña casa con 5 gatos de casa, dos perros y 4 gatos de la platabanda 🙂
En retrospectiva tal vez hemos debido pensarlo mejor, pero ya no había tiempo de pensar en otra solución…

To go down we hired our trusted cab driver which is a delicate matter. In the Italian mafia, the most important position is always the chauffeur, since he is the person who will know all the schedules, places and private information of the family.
With the trust that time builds, there is also the respect of not abusing the trust and well, I'm not sure if we abused it this time 😅.
For four days we practically moved the whole house. We even brought down a TV to make a change and the weirdest thing is that we took almost no clothes with us. Even with a baby you don't take so much stuff, like with a dog and a cat 😅
Para bajar contratamos a nuestro taxista de confianza lo cual es un tema delicado. En la mafia italiana, el puesto más importante siempre es el de chófer, puesto que es la persona que sabrá todos los horarios, los lugares e información privada de la familia.
Con la confianza que construye el tiempo, también se hace el respeto de no abusar de la confianza y pues, no estoy segura si está vez abusamos 😅
Para cuatro días nosotros prácticamente nos mudamos con toda la casa. Incluso bajamos un televisor para hacer un cambio y lo más raro es que no llevamos casi ropa. Ni siquiera con un bebé se llevan tantas cosas, como con un perro y un gato 😅

Well what worried me the most was the coexistence that Púa would have in such a small space with so many cats, but fortunately my baby is an angel. She was very respectful with my mother-in-law's two older dogs and with all the cats. She barely came close enough to sniff them and always kept her distance.
The one who did behave as she pleased was little Simba 😂 it's amazing how kittens show so much confidence when they are so small.
He wasn't afraid of any of the cats, even when they snorted at him, he wanted to play and even stood on his two little paws to show his dominance.
Bueno lo que más me preocupaba era la convivencia que tendría Púa en un espacio tan pequeño con tantos gatos, pero por fortuna mi bebé es un ángel. Fue muy respetuosa con los dos perritos mayores de mi suegra y con todos los gatos. Apenas si se acercaba para olerlos y siempre guardando distancias.
El que sí se portó como le dio la gana fue el pequeño Simba 😂 es increíble como siendo tan pequeños los gatitos muestran tanta confianza.
No le tuvo miedo a ninguno de los gatos, ni siquiera cuando le bufaban, buscaba jugar y hasta se paraba en sus dos patitas para mostrar su dominio.

But it wasn't all about the animals, on this occasion they were also making the traditional hallacas 🍲.
As is well known, this typical Venezuelan Christmas dish takes a long time to prepare and cook, so they cannot be taken lightly. But incredibly, this time 50 hallacas were made in 2 days, starting at 9pm on Friday 😳.
I still can't explain how the ingredients were bought on the 23rd, the stew was assembled at night, they started to assemble on the 24th itself at 1pm and were ready at 9pm 😳 this only supports my theory that in La Guaira time unfolds and it's much slower.
Pero no todo fueron las tremenduras de los animales, en esta oportunidad también se estuvieron haciendo las tradicionales hallacas 🍲
Cómo es bien sabido este platillo típico de las navidades venezolanas, llevan un largo tiempo de preparación y cocción, por lo que no se pueden tomar a la ligera. Pero increíblemente, en esta oportunidad se hicieron 50 hallacas en 2 días, empezando a las 9pm del viernes 😳
Aún no me explico cómo se compraron los ingredientes el 23, se montó el guiso en la noche, se empezaron a armar el propio 24 a la 1pm y estuvieron listas a las 9pm 😳 esto sólo apoya mi teoría de que en La Guaira el tiempo se desdobla y es mucho más lento

However, I must admit that we had a great time. My mother-in-law is a dedicated and hardworking woman. She always puts on a good face and finds solutions where others make excuses. A blessing of a person.
I didn't participate much because, as I explained, I was watching out that Pua didn't eat a cat or vice versa 😂
Sin embargo, debo admitir que la pasamos muy bien. Mi suegra es una mujer abocada y trabajadora. Siempre pone buena cara y encuentra soluciones donde otros ponen excusas. Una bendición de persona.
Yo no participe mucho porque, como expliqué, estaba al pendiente de que Púa no se comiera a un gato o viceversa 😂

Christmas dinner was very nice. Most of my husband's maternal family came and we had a nice sharing.
But without a doubt one of the most special parts was at 12pm when the baby Jesus was "born" and it was time to hand out the presents (here in Venezuela they open the presents at that time 🤭).
There were many people and many gifts to open. Although they were not at all expensive gifts, the intention was the important thing and here it was demonstrated that the important thing was to be with people you appreciate and have a good time with them.
La cena de Navidad fue muy bonita. Vinieron la mayoría de la familia materna de mi esposo y tuvimos un lindo compartir.
Pero sin duda una de las partes más especiales fue a las 12pm cuando "nació" el niño Jesús y llegó el momento de repartir los regalos (aquí en Venezuela se abren los regalos a esa hora 🤭)
Había muchas personas y muchos regalos que abrir. Aunque no fueron para nada obsequios costosos, la intención era lo importante y aquí quedó demostrado que lo importante era estar con personas a las que aprecies y pasarla bien con ellas.

After the exchange it was my bedtime because ✨I'm a grandma✨ and I was already falling asleep 🤭 my husband and family were celebrating until later.
But it didn't end there. The next day, I wanted my other Christmas "selfie" which was to go see the new amusement park on the coastal strip... but... that didn't go well at all.
Luego del intercambio llegó mi hora de dormir porque ✨soy una doña✨ y ya me estaba cayendo del sueño 🤭 mi esposo y la familia si estuvieron celebrando hasta más tarde.
Pero eso no acababa allí. Al día siguiente, yo quería mi otro "auto-regalo" de navidad que era ir a ver el nuevo parque de atracciones de la cinta costera… pero… eso no salió nada bien.

Here's a piece of advice. If you have a plan on how to do your stuff, do it like this. Don't wait for anyone, or because you think it's better or more comfortable.
I wanted to leave at 5pm to get there by 6pm and have a good time enjoying ourselves before we got into a fight about getting on a bus back. But. I came up with the great idea of convincing my sister-in-law to drive us in her car... big mistake.
My brother and sister in law gave themselves the bomb of the year to go out and we had to get gas before going to the bus station... I'll sum this experience up as my husband and I having a nasty fight about riding in a carcacha that is a danger to society.
But hey, that didn't stop me from taking some pictures of how beautiful the historic center of La Guaira is. I have always said that I am in love with this coastal state. See that they are investing in tourism makes me very happy 😊
Aquí quiero darles un consejo. Si usted tiene un plan de cómo hacer sus cosas, hágalo así. No espere por nadie, ni porque crea que es mejor o más cómodo.
Yo quería salir a las 5 de la tarde para llegar a las 6 y tener un buen rato de disfrute antes de ponernos a pelear por subirnos a un autobús de regreso. Peeeero. Se me ocurrió la gran idea de convencer a mi cuñada para que nos llevará en su carro… grasso error.
Mis cuñados se dieron la bomba del año para salir y además teníamos que echar gasolina antes de ir a la cinta… voy a resumir está experiencia como que mi esposo y yo tuvimos una desagradable pelea por montarnos en una carcacha que es un peligro para la sociedad.
Pero bueno, eso no me impidió tomar unas fotos de lo bonito que está el casco histórico de La Guaira. Siempre he dicho que yo estoy enamorada de este estado costero. Ver que están invirtiendo en turismo me alegra enormemente 😊

I didn't have a good time that night. In fact I couldn't go to the amusement park because we got there too late and they were already closing it. Still to the date that published this post I have not been able to go and not know when I can 😔.
But hey hope is the last thing you lose ❤️
Esa noche no la pasé bien. De hecho no pude ir al parque de atracciones porque llegamos muy tarde y ya lo estaban cerrando. Aún a la fecha que publicó este post no he podido ir y no se cuando pueda 😔
Pero bueno la esperanza es lo último que se pierde ❤️

The next day (after my husband and I made up) we went back to our little house and "premiered" a new TV (we didn't really premiere it because it was in use at my mother-in-law's house 😅).
If I am left with any kind of reflection, it is that fights (no matter how fair your point of view is) are worthless if you feel bad afterwards, that sharing what you have with people you love is always a good deal and that dogs and cats are masters of diplomacy 😂.

Al día siguiente (después de que mi esposo y yo hicimos las paces) regresamos a nuestra casita y "estrenamos" TV nueva (realmente no la estrenamos porque estaba en uso en casa de mi suegra 😅)
Si me queda algún tipo de reflexión, es que las peleas (por más justo que sea tu punto de vista) no valen de nada si luego te sientes mal, que compartir lo que tienes con personas a las que quieres es siempre un buen negocio y que los perros y los gatos son maestros de la diplomacia 😂
