"A Matter of Friendship"

Ikeda once said, "Those who make friends have greater opportunities for growth and self-development. Such they make society a better place to live in and lead happy and satisfying lives". In some circumstances, there are many forms of friendship wherein we are attached, even if it is a short or long-term friendship. What kind of friends should we have?

In our time right now, we can meet many friends along our nurturing path. Some of them are good influences and bad role models. But, it is up to us to choose whom we are going together. We should be smart in choosing our peers. There are kinds of friends that will distract our peaceful life because of the vices we have adopted from them. True friends comfort us when we are sad, want our opinions on things, value our company, tell our faults without sugarcoats, help us become what we will be, and understand us no matter what the situation. Friendship is not about when we have known the longest, it is about who came and never left our side.

Moreover, mothers are our first friends. They taught us how to become good people and reliable friends. In times of sadness and happiness, they are at our side. Our mothers are our protectors and counselors. They still love us whoever and whatever we will be because they know that they have already given us all the morals that we have to know to guide us in facing our challenges. It is because of our mothers we experienced a genuine friendship that we apply in our social dealings.

Having the characteristics of true friends like our mothers, we have the possibility to change and make this world a better place. Through good communication and relationship with our friends, we can avoid arguments. Start being a true friend before it's too late. Seize the day and have no regrets!
