You know, I really hate to say that out loud- positive consequences to Covid19, especially when so many millions of people around the world have suffered such negative consequences and not just from the pandemic, but other problems that have indirectly affected them and put them at even greater risk of being impacted form the pandemic.
Things such as the monumental amount of natural and man made disasters that have been occurring around the world, displacing so many millions of people and animals, making so many homeless in a time when they are meant to be at home, staying away from the virus.
Then there were and are the bushfires everywhere, the wars that are still raging across national borders, forcing so many more millions of people to feel their homes, aswell as massive protests based around political and social justice issues. From police brutality in America to Nigeria, to po0litical dissent from citizens who protest their corrupt, cheating leaders and just plain and simple greed and corruption within governments who take so much that they completely suffocate the economics of their citizens, like they have in So many countries in Latin America to Africa and beyond.
So the whole world is suffering in unimaginable ways and as I sit in front of my old computer in my nice apt in Melbourne after having 8 moths in lockdown which is now almost completely over and was essentially a long holiday at home, I HATE saying that out loud- that there were positive impacts and consequences to the pandemic, but realistically, I know that there were- and will be for many people to come.
Simple logic dictates that for every negative there is a positive, so it is undeniable that there are positives to the pandemic.

So my positives are both short terms gains and longterm impacts.
Top of my list were discovering the Hive back in June 2020 and falling in love with it and everyone on it!
And during the past 8 months, I was able to catch up on so many things that I have been trying to get done for so long.
Such as editing a 42minute version of a documentary that I have been filming since 2010. This 42 minute version has been submitted as evidence into the Royal Commission into Mental Health in Victoria and I realised a few weeks ago that I have spent months editing this on an 11yr old computer with an old version of Premier Pro just for 4 people to watch.
Then I realised that these are the 4 most important people in Victoria at the moment as they have the power to change the negative status quo for mental health sufferers- especially vulnerable women of all ages, cultures and religious denominations.
Here is a link to 2 teasers that I have cut for it- the first 1 in 2016 here @chociscorpipro/atjnclnh and the 2nd one a couple of months ago here @chociscorpipro/ymzaolse and I am now editing a feature length version for broadcast.
I have also adapted an original short story of mine into a short screenplay
I have also almost finished the first draft of an original feature length screenplay
I have listened, watched and participated in numerous industry based podcasts, webinars and watched hundreds of tutorials on mostly creative things, but really anything that interested me- which is pretty much everything....so big on self education
I wrote a 20 page treatment for one of my original investigative documentary series https://www.chocolatescorpion.com/animalis for a tv network in Europe (just as the pandemic started going global, so no joy there ofcourse...)
I have been giving zoom lessons to a couple of students teaching them to edit.
I have increased my linkedin network by 500+- which will have a longterm benefit
And I have rediscovered my love of dancing and music ( in my living room ofcourse lol...)
