It's here! Hive Power Up Day for December 1st, 2023

My mind is completely blown by the fact that we're now on the last Power Up Day for 2023! It seems like five seconds ago it was summer, now all of a sudden we're mere weeks away from Christmas. Needless to say (yet I'm saying it again) with the time flying by, I've also struggled to keep up with the awards for the fall editions of Power Up Day. Last month, to help get things back on track, I changed up the drawings and designated a number to each sponsor so they'd be able to find the winners of their prizes every month just by looking at the official results list.

Now I'm working on getting caught up with the past prize winners. I started today by delegating to the top 3 November winners for both my prize and the one distributed by @eddiespino since ~~I haven't notified him since August who the winners were because, my brain is melty~~ it's so late in the month and in about a week we'll have the December winners to delegate to. I'm planning to add the top winners from September & October in the next few days, and I'll probably let the delegations run a bit longer than the 30 days, as a way of saying sorry for the delay. After that, I'll start in on the other prizes still waiting to be awarded, with the goal of being completely caught up for the new year.

Speaking of delay (although I don't think these three are sorry for it 😂 ) I also cancelled the delegations and auto upvotes for the top three winners in August. So @jpiekiel, @les90, and @coolmidwestguy - sorry/not sorry your prizes lasted a bit longer than expected!

As for the business at hand - while it's still not midnight in my neck of the woods (I'm posting this just after 11:00pm EST), #HivePUD for December 1st 2023 has already arrived in other parts of the world. HivePUD TL;DR

If you want to qualify for the AMAZING Hive Power Up Day badge(s), your power up must happen during the 24 hours of December 1st 2023 according to UTC time.

and/or

If you want to qualify for the #HivePUD prize pool, your power up and post must happen (according to criteria listed below) during the hours of December 1st 2023, your local time.

In October 2022, because of the continuing (and awesome) uptick in participation, I tweaked the timeline of the Power Up Day results to give me a couple extra days to put things together after my numbers guy sends me the raw data.

What is HivePUD?

Hive Power Up Day happens on the first of every month. Those who are able to, take this time to power up some Hive, and/or cancel their power downs and pause trading/selling for the 24 hour span of the day.

What are the rules to win prizes for HivePUD?

UPDATED As of July 2022

The requirements are:

Your reputation must be above 39 and below 70 (so 69.99 qualifies but 70.00 doesn't) and your account must be in good standing with the community.
Your total HIVE Power (before the 1st) must be more than 100 and less than 8000.
You must power up at least 10 Hive on December 1st (and must NOT be powering down).
You must write a post about your power up on December 1st with at least 1 of these 3 tags - #HivePUD (International), #HispanicHPUD (Hispanic), or #HPUD (General) as one of your first 5 tags (tagging only in the body of the post doesn't count).

To clarify - your Power Up Day post doesn't have to be just about your power up. You're welcome to just include a bit about it at the beginning/end of an unrelated post. For example, "Here are some pictures of my cute cats and oh yeah, here's a screencap of my power up today." Just be sure it's posted on the first, and has the correct tag(s). 😊

To be included in the winners list, you must meet all four requirements above. The order of the list (first place, second place, and so on) will be determined by the biggest PERCENTAGE of Hive powered up, not necessarily the most Hive powered up.

Also, while it hasn't been a rule (yet), this initiative has always been geared towards helping individual accounts, not groups or communities. A couple of times over the years, a community has ended up in the top 3, but were not awarded prizes. This is a heads up that next month, I'll be added it to the rules that only individual accounts will be able to qualify.

And to make it clear what's changed about the rules, I've bolded the two bits in rules #1 and #3. I think it's pretty self-explanatory why I've added those in, but please feel free to shout out if you any questions about it.

Oh, and a bit of a clarification as I haven't mentioned it for a minute - your Power Up Day post doesn't have to be just about your power up. You're welcome to just include a bit about it at the beginning/end of an unrelated post. For example, "Here are some pictures of my cute cats and oh yeah, here's a screencap of my power up today." How to get HiveBuzz badges

For details, check their post Hive Power Up Day - November 1st 2022 as well as their Power Up Day Helper Badge post but essentially -

Power up a minimum of 10 HIVE during the UTC time for the first of the month. Convert your local time to UTC or check the countdown timer on the Hive Buzz site (under the "Challenges" tab) to confirm it's during the first UTC time before you power up.
