Saludos el día de hoy me uno al Concurso para hablar de mi película clásica favorita, esta película que nunca me cansaría de ver, a nivel personal me gustan muchas películas viejas, no soy una experta pero puedo decir que he visto un número importante de estas y siempre me dejan fascinada, sobre todo por el contraste que existe con las temáticas y estilo de las producciones actuales. Hay dos motivos principales que me llevaron a ver esta película por primera vez hace años, uno de estos es la actriz protagonista Marlene Dietrich a quien ya conocía por su música y por su puesto por sus fotos y video de juventud donde parecía una diosa cargada de exotismo , sensualidad y talento, la segunda razón es el tema de investigación que tuve para mi obra plástica por muchos años mientras cursaba la carrera de Artes en la universidad , en este entonces yo trabajaba el tema de las leyendas de mi ciudad natal, entre ellas se encontraba la leyenda de una mujer que era como una viuda negra que cumplía con el arquetipo de mujer fatal, por lo tanto leí mucho sobre este arquetipo y sin duda hubo relación inmediata con algunas mujeres que se hicieron famosas dentro de la cultura musical teatral y cinematográfica desde inicio del siglo pasado, por eso coincidiendo con ambos intereses vi esta película y se convirtió en una de mis favoritas .
There are two main reasons that led me to see this film for the first time years ago, one of these is the leading actress Marlene Dietrich whom I already knew for her music and of course for her photos and video of her youth where she seemed like a goddess full of exoticism, sensuality and talent, the second reason is the subject of research that I had for my plastic work for many years while I was studying Arts at the university, at that time I was working on the subject of the legends of my hometown, among them there was the legend of a woman who was like a black widow who fulfilled the archetype of femme fatale, therefore I read a lot about this archetype and without a doubt there was an immediate relationship with some women who became famous within the theatrical musical culture and film since the beginning of the last century, that's why, coinciding with both interests, I saw this film and it became one of my favorites.
El contexto de la película es España aunque es una película americana, se trata de la historia Concha Pérez una joven que trabajaba en una tabacalera (algo común en la época), ella tiene una exuberante belleza y personalidad muy vivaz que pone a cualquier hombre a sus pies tal como pasó con el joven Antonio Galvan , un revolucionario español que vive en el exilio pero que regresa a España esperando pasar desapercibido en la celebración de Carnaval, allí ve a Concha por primera vez y queda flechado, esta le deja una nota para un encuentro furtivo pero este joven antes de asistir le pide opinión a un ex capitán de la guardia civil y viejo amigo, este es Don Pascual quien le advierte que el conoce a Concha y que es por su bien es mejor que se aleje de ella, este comienza a contarle que su vida cayó en desgracia cuando conoció a Concha Pérez y la película hace flash back de todos esos sucesos.

Don Pascual se había enamorado de Concha hace mucho tiempo y ella solo lo usaba para obtener dinero y le hacia desplantes, lo dejaba en ridículo y no aceptaba sus proposiciones, ella era una chica que trabaja en la tabacalera , aparentaba siempre ser alguien que necesitaba ser protegida pero en realidad ella sabía muy bien resolver sus asuntos, era muy libre y además muy alegre, en varias ocasiones se dejaba cortejar por Don Pascual pero al mismo tiempo no le prometía nada ni dejaba doblegar por el poder económico y el estatus de Don Pascual, ella hacía lo que quería y eso volvía loco a Pascual quien era un señor mucho mayor que ella, por eso la reputación de Don Pascual se vio afectada y el renunció a su cargo.
Don Pascual had fallen in love with Concha a long time ago and she only used him to get money and rudely made him look ridiculous and did not accept his proposals, she was a girl who worked at the tobacco company, she always seemed to be someone who needed to be protected but in reality she knew very well how to solve her affairs, she was very free and also very cheerful, on several occasions she allowed herself to be courted by Don Pascual but at the same time she did not promise him anything or allow herself to be bowed down by the economic power and status of Don Pascual , she did what she wanted and that drove Pascual crazy, who was a man much older than her, that's why Don Pascual's reputation was affected and he resigned from his position.
Una de mis escenas favoritas fue la escena en que Concha canta una canción, ella se encuentra trabajando haciendo presentaciones para una señora dueña de una taberna, por su puesto esta señora se encarga de sacarle dinero a Pascual para dejar ir a su cantante Concha quien atrae a muchos clientes, una vez más Concha vuelve a sentirse libre pero no para estar atada a Pascual, la canción es muy cómica pero una de las particularidades de esta película es que no cae en lo ridículo, ahí es donde rescato al actuación magnífica de Marlene Dietrich .
One of my favorite scenes was the scene in which Concha sings a song, she is working making presentations for a lady who owns a tavern, of course this lady is in charge of getting money from Pascual to let her singer Concha go, who attracts to many clients, once again Concha feels free again but not to be tied to Pascual, the song is very funny but one of the particularities of this film is that it does not fall into the ridiculous, that is where I rescue the magnificent performance of Marlene Dietrich.
Antonio después de escuchar la historia le promete a Don Pascual no ir al encuentro con Concha, pero es una mentira, él va y Pascual los encuentra juntos, tanto es la molestia que lo reta a un duelo, no me gustaría darles spoilers acerca del desenlace pero es muy inesperado.
After hearing the story, Antonio promises Don Pascual not to go to meet Concha, but it is a lie, he goes and Pascual finds them together, so much is the annoyance that he challenges him to a duel, I would not like to give you spoilers about the outcome but it is very unexpected.
Esta película fue muy controversial en su época, creo que incluso hoy en día muchas mujeres pretenden que se borre el arquetipo de mujer fatal como solo una devoradora de hombres, pues obviamente las mujeres luchan para ser vistas más allá de un simple objeto del deseo masculino, pero los motivos por los cuales fue prohibida esta película fue que según el régimen español de esos años esta película americana mostraba una mala imagen de la policía española, lo cual a mi parecer no es cierto, creo que esa película se pudo haber ambientado en cualquier país y el resultado fuese sido el mismo, es decir, el romance forma el pilar principal de la película y el otro pilar sigue la comedia aunque es tan especial que no es como una burla . Hoy doy gracias a que la misma Marlene Dietrich muchísimos años después dio su única copia de la película para que se pudiera difundir, según pude saber por artículos web en la época en que la vi, si esto no hubiese sucedido esta gran película se fuera quedado sin revelar para las generaciones siguientes.
This movie was very controversial in its time, I think that even today many women want the femme fatale archetype to be erased as just a man-eater, since obviously women struggle to be seen as more than a simple object of male desire. , but the reasons why this film was banned was that according to the Spanish regime of those years this American film showed a bad image of the Spanish police, which in my opinion is not true, I think that film could have been set in any country and the result would be the same, that is, the romance forms the main pillar of the film and the other pillar follows the comedy, although it is so special that it is not like a joke. Today I give thanks to the fact that many years later, Marlene Dietrich herself gave her only copy of the film so that it could be disseminated, as I was able to learn from web articles at the time I saw it, if this had not happened, this great film would have stayed unrevealed for subsequent generations.
