Today the child asks me to make fried squid with crispy flour, usually the mothers prefer to buy fried flour that is ready to use (of course containing artificial flavoring), but I am happy to make the fried flour with natural flavoring spices that are rich in spices.
Fried squid certainly contains enough protein for children, but the fried squid also contains high saturated fat and cholesterol levels, so I will combine with vegetables that contain sufficient fibers and nutrients to reduce saturated fat content and cholesterol contained. Today I'm going to fry squid (kids request) and stir fry chayote. Fried squid which contains saturated fat and cholesterol, we can describe with stir fried chayote which can reduce saturated fat and cholesterol levels in the blood.
The main ingredients we need for sauteing chayote are:
500 gram chayote
The spices we need are:
Garlic 5 cloves
red onion 5 cloves
tomato 1 piece
red chili 50 grams
additional ingredients, namely
enough water
salt 1/2 tablespoon
sugar 1/2 teaspoon
pepper powder to taste
How to process chayote fruit:
Chayote contains a lot of white sap, if it is not removed, then when it is cooked, the fruit will not taste good, therefore we have to remove the sap on the pumpkin before cooking, the method is: Cut the chayote into two parts, then rub the second rub part of the pumpkin to remove the sap (if you are afraid of getting the sap on your hands, you can use gloves, I greased my hands with cooking oil to avoid pumpkin sap).
after that remove the seeds in the middle of the fruit, then peel the hard outer skin, we don't remove the soft skin, then discard the hard pumpkin shoots.
after that we cut the chayote according to taste, after all cut into small pieces, then wash.
How to cook it:
Wash the onions, garlic, tomatoes and red chilies, then blend them. set aside a tablespoon of ground spices for frying the squid.
heat oil, saute ground spices until fragrant.
Enter the chayote pieces into the spices, mix well,
add salt, sugar and water to taste (I used 200 mL of water)
after the water is reduced, add pepper powder to taste, then stir until the chayote pieces are well mixed with the spices.
Don't cook the chayote for too long, so that the nutrients contained in the chayote are maintained.
fried squid
provide a large size fresh squid (I happen to get a medium size) about 200 grams.
Before we fry, we have to remove the black ink bag on the squid, after that we wash the squid clean, then we cut it into small pieces to make it easier for us when frying.
Prepare seasoning flour
10 tablespoons of flour
1 tablespoon of ground spices (red chilies, tomatoes, garlic, shallots blended)
1/2 tablespoon of salt
pepper powder to taste
enough water
Enter the ground spices, salt and pepper into the flour, add water little by little so that the flour mixture is not too runny.
mix the squid pieces into the flour mixture.
fry the squid that has been given flour, fry until brown, don't forget to turn it over so that it cooks evenly and doesn't burn.
fry the squid until it runs out, don't forget before continuing to fry, clean the oil from the remaining flour left in the first fryer.
Stir fried chayote and fried squid is ready to be served.
