Chana Dal Khichadi Recipe !!!

Chana dal khichdi is an authentic mix of chana dal and rice. Unlike the usual khichdi which is mashed up, this one has each strand of rice standing tall and separate. This is used a Prasad for a variety of occasions. Let’s see how we make it.

Ingredients

100gms chana dal,

200gms rice,

hing,

jeera,

salt,

red chilli powder

Method

Step 1: soak the chana dal for about 4-5 hours and rice for about 1 hour.

Step 2: Boil the soaked chana dal in pressure cooker by adding 1 tbsp salt. Cook 70 percent only.

Step 3: in another pressure cooker, take 1 tbsp ghee. Add jeera, red chilli powder and hing. Now add water equivalent to three times the rice.

Step 4: add salt. Now add rice and boiled chana dal and cook for 2 whistles. Wait for the steam to finish.

Step 5: garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with lemon pickle.
