Sweet Mathri is a sweet and crispy snack which is liked all over India. There are many types of Mathri like plain Mathri, masala Mathri, methi Mathri, sweet Mathri. It can be stored for many weeks. It is taken to eat during travel. Here I am making sweet Mathri which is very tasty to eat and also looks very attractive.
Ingredients:-
- Refined flour- 2 cups
- Ghee- 1/4 cup
- Salt- a pinch
- Baking powder- 1/2 tsp
- Water- for kneading
Method:-
Take 2 cups of refined flour in a bowl

Add all the ingredients (from Moin's recipe) in it. Ghee for this,

Add a pinch of salt, baking powder and knead the dough with hot water. Cover it and keep it aside for 1/2 hour.

The dough should neither be wet nor tight. It is necessary to add 1/4th of the amount of flour so that the mathri becomes crispy.
For syrup:-
Sugar- 1/2 cup
Water- 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder- 1 tsp
Nutmeg powder- 1/2 tsp
Saffron- few seeds
Food colour- 1/4 tsp
Method:-
In a pan, heat 1/2 cup water and 1/3 cup sugar and add all the ingredients (cardamom powder, nutmeg powder, food colour, saffron) in it.
After sugar melts, cook for 2 minutes and then turn off the gas
Now to make mathri, make the dough soft and cut it into equal size pieces

Cut it and prepare it

Then take a dough ball and roll it to make a peda

Its size is bigger than a puri and smaller than a roti then put it on this roti Apply ghee with a brush

Sprinkle some flour on it and make thin cuts at some distances or by leaving edges with the help of a knife

Roll it slowly with the help of hands

Then we will pull it a little and rotate it

And we will fold it and press it with our hands

On the other side, heat ghee and deep fry the mathri on low flame

Let it become golden brown from both the sides

Then take them out and put them in hot sugar syrup

Take them out after 1 minute
In the same way prepare all the mathris

Keep them in sugar syrup for a longer time Do not keep it in the refrigerator otherwise it becomes soft
Now take it out in a plate

Garnish it as per your choice

Then you can store it in an airtight container and take it out and eat or feed it whenever you want
