Lil’ Mexico in Bangalore

One of the newest additions to pubs in Bangalore is the Techila Mexican Pub. This place is known for serving Mexican specials with an Indian twist.

We were floored by the creativity they displayed with regard to the food they served. Here’s all we tried at the place:

Gol Gappa Shots
Gol Gappa, also known as Pani Puri or Puchka, is a very common street food loved by all in India. This one was however a healthier version of the same. They serve shots of Mint, Beetroot, and Pineapple purées instead of the tamarind water that is normally served. You fill the hollow fried dough balls(puri) with the flavoured water (‘pani’ meaning water in Hindi) and it is a burst of flavour when you bite into it.

Bacon Wrapped Sausages
These were smoky slices of bacon wrapped around some juicy sausages. It makes the perfect breakfast option.

Tuna Bagels
The tuna salad was slightly salty but the flaky fish added texture to the salad. The bagel bread was chewy though.

Chimichangas (Pork Meat)
Chimichangas are a Mexican favourite. These are tender burrito-like pockets with meat and veggies for fillings inside. There were cubes of fried pork that added substance to the filling.

Tiramisu
This dessert is one of THE BEST I’ve had in Bengaluru. Perfect texture, perfectly juicy, perfect amount of espresso juicing out in every scoop! Talk about a dessert I fell in love with, hehe.

Tres Leches
This cake was so spongy and so soft. It melts in your mouth. Tres Leches is basically sponge cake made with three different types of milks. Tres Leches translates to “three milks”. It has whole milk, condensed milk, and evaporated milk. This was delicious and definitely something I’d go back for.

They have a special menu of “Techila Specials”, which are tequila-based cocktails and they’re beautiful. The mango flavoured cocktail was pleasant and very smooth. It was perfect for the weather. They also served us a “Speedy Gonzales”, a whiskey-based cocktail, which was also smooth and tasted well.

Something quite commendable about the place is their mix of ambience. They have an open corridor seating outside and a dim-lit space on the inside.

We had a delicious time here and thoroughly enjoyed the fusion of food and of course, a lot of tequila. xD

That’s all for this post. If you got till the end of the post, thank you for reading! Do drop a vote and a comment if you liked it. And of course, a reblog if you loved it. ✨
