Turn up the beet with "Paneer" in my dish - My Paneer Recipe!

One of the common and most sought vegetarian recipe popular in India is Paneer (cottage cheese). Diifferent types of recipe can be made out of this single item. We have paneer masala, shahi paneer, Palak paneer, paneer do plaza and many others items which I am not aware of. Just went out to any restaurant and you will find multiple items of Paneer in the menu. It is also popular at home too and I tried making in my own way.

In India, Paneer is considered next to mutton. People who dont like eating non veg items, always rely on this. Paneer is a good substitute for meat in a vegetarian diet because it is high in protein and essential fats, and low in carbohydrates. It is also a good source of minerals like potassium, magnesium, and calcium, which may help regulate blood pressure. Paneer has a soft, flexible texture similar to chicken, which can help people transition to veganism. It is generslly made up of Milk. I am trying cooking this dish in my own way. Here are ingredients list used in the making

  • Paneer (200 grams)
  • Chopped Onion (2 medium size)
  • Chopped Tomatoes (2 medium size)
  • Garlic (2 pcs)
  • Green Chilli (4 pcs)
  • Other cooking item (oil, salt, Cummins, spices)

Paneer is easily available in India at milk parlor or sweet shops at a reasonable rate.

I began my cooking cutting open the Paneer packet and cutting them into small pieces. They are soft and easy to cut.

I mixed the small pieces with red chillies powder and little tomatoes sauces. Just to add little texture to it.

We fry them in a frying pan, till the paneer turned little yellowish.

In the meantime, I made areangement as far as chopping the veggies is concerned. I Chopped them into small pieces to make fine gravy.

Once the Panner is half fried, and veggies is ready, we began with cooking process. I kept the utensil in high flame and added , Cummins, garlic and Green chillies to fry.

We add, onion to it and once it turned into golden yellow, we all add tomatoes. We keep stirring the mixture till it get fried properly.

Add Salt , Turmeric , and other spices and keep stirring it. From time to time make sure, all the spices are blended properly.

Once everything is fried properly, makes sure to add the half fried paneer to it. We have fried seperatelly as it is soft and does not require too much frying.

Mix everything properly. And add 2 cups of water to make a thick gravy. Let them to boil and cook by covering the lid.

Let them to heat and cook for 10 minutes in low flame. Our Paneer dish is ready to be served with with Indian chapati.

You can enjoy this item with Rice as well. This is my first time cooking and learning with every bits. Hope you enjoy this Paneer dish.
