Hello food lovers..how are you? Hope you all are happy with full bellies 😃
First of all, what is falafel? They are fried disks of ground chickpeas, spices and chopped parsley.
I don't know if you have tasted it before, but it is a very popular dish in the Middle East, so it is a tradition almost every Friday, we eat it for breakfast, but you can also have it for lunch or dinner on any other day. You can have it as snacks too.
Today I want to share with you the falafel that my mother makes at home, in fact, it is more delicious than many of the falafel I had in restaurants.
Its preparation is very easy, all you need to do is soak the chickpeas from the evening until the next morning, the chickpeas will gain a soft texture and swell, making it easier to mash. Then add salt, spices and red pepper to it. You can also mash parsley with it as well. Some add garlic or onions as desired.
Then we leave it for a while to ferment after, in the meantime we cut the vegetables that we want to eat with it or add it to it in the sandwich.
Here we have a cucumber, I like to cut it in a finger shape that makes it easier to wrap the sandwich
We also have tomatoes cut into small pieces, chopped parsley and mint, turnip pickles and you can add cucumber pickles as well, but I ran out.
And don't forget the most important ingredient, the sauce. It consists of a milkshake and tahini with salt, pepper, various spices and garlic. It has a very great taste and is good with falafel, you can also add ketchup or mustard.
There is a mold to make the falafel take the shape of a disk before throwing it into the boiling oil, you have to wait for the oil to boil and then form the falafel in the mold and put it in the oil quietly to keep its shape.
Wait until it turns golden brown, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, then remove it from the oil and put it in a colander.
Thus, you will have a delicious falafel. It looks irresistible and very tasty.
Put all the ingredients in a loaf of bread with falafel patties and enjoy the wonderful taste.. Bon appetit.
