"Fresh and Proper Ingredients. Trustworthy and Healthy Korean Food" As written on their menu.

Now, such words brought joy to my heart as I have been looking for healthy food to indulge myself in after weeks of eating salad, sweet potatoes, and fresh fruit shakes! I was definitely in for a treat when I went on a spontaneous date with a handsome Hive friend at this small but successful Korean restaurant called TOPPOKIMAN.

My handsome friend was the one who suggested this place after we met up at the barbershop where he was having a fancy scalp treatment. It was just a 3 minutes walking distance.

This Korean restaurant just turned 10 years old. Despite having walked past this establishment a couple of times back since my college days, I never had the chance to dine in and taste their food. But here I am finally able to try what people have enjoyed for those past years...

There weren't a lot of customers during our visit and so we settled at the table in the middle then chose what food to order. There were a lot of options from Toppokki to Kimbap to Noodles, and Rice Meals. We ended up choosing the following:

Cheesy Cheese Ramen - Php150 or $2.72,
Spicy Pork Kimbab - Php200 or $3.63,
Fried Set - Php180 or $3.27,
Bibimbap - Php200 or $3.63
1 Extra Servings of Kimchi - Php20 or $0.36
1 Pitcher of Juice - Php120 or 2.18

Total of Php870 or $15.81.

And as we were waiting for our food, my handsome date namely @ybanezkim26 was all smiles flexing his fresh new look in his Hive shirt. Well, all ready for this coming Feb 14, I suppose...

After some 10 -15 minutes of catching up, the food was served one by one, and oh boy! They all looked so good! First up was the Spicy Pork Kimbab! They were bigger sizes compared to what I am used to in other restaurants. Perfect for sharing. The meat filling was not overpowered by the rice too. It already tasted so good but the sauce with sesame seeds was the ultimate win for me! It just added another layer of rich flavor to the kimbap.

This Bibimbap with its perfectly cooked egg never should be left out of your choices! A healthy option with all those varieties of vegetables that go with it. Its taste was just mouthwatering which will leave you wanting more. Unfortunately, one bowl would be enough for one person!

My favorite - Cheesy Cheese Ramen! For an affordable price, it was already worth it. @ybanezkim26 and I enjoyed this one so much! You could taste the flavor of the cheese in its savory hot soup. Also served with Kimchi!

This Fried Set made of Shrimp, Squid, Kimmari, Mandu, Squash, Crab meat, Sweet Potato, and Eggplant was just the perfect match to all other dishes with its light but flavorful taste. In the end, I had to be the one to finish all this up because Kim had his tummy full from all the other dishes.

I'm really glad I was able to taste all these delicious, healthy Korean food at Toppokiman! I think I found a new favorite affordable go-to dine-in restaurant here in Cebu City! Should you want to visit the store, you can head to their main branch located at Banilad Rosedale Place, Banilad, Gov. M. Cuenco Ave, Cebu City, just right beside my alma mater - University of San Carlos Talamban Campus. They also have a Kiosk at Ayala Mall Central Bloc, 4F in IT Park. Or simply order them in any food delivery app!
