Initially, I chuckled just reading the name of this cafe. It sounds like "Starbucks" and Filipinos have a way of making funny but appealing names for their stores or establishments.
We didn't mind this café after passing it by a couple of times during our visit to Siargao. It was located near our rented apartment along the Main Road in General Luna. However, that time when we were in a rush to get to Cloud 9 for some surfing sessions, we had to find a place to dine early in the morning. We manage to catch them opening up around 9:00 am.
From the outside, it looks quite simple and tries to have that tropical vibe with its thatched roofing. They could have used more bamboo wood and plant decors. So it wasn't that attractive thus my initial disinterest in the place.
When we were inside, I was taken aback by how light and cozy the ambiance was. The interior was simple but clean and a little bit chic. If you are wondering where are the books, they are placed on the wall. They have a clean toilet. And one can ask for wi-fi access too.
It was a lazy morning and the kids were also not in the mood yet so it was the moms who took charge of ordering food. They were serving All Day Breakfast with choices of Hungarian, Corned Beef, Tocino, and Spam paired with Egg and Garlic Rice for only Php200 ($3.57). They also serve heavy meals, sandwiches, and salads ranging from Php250 to Php350 ($4.46-$6.25) only.
Of course, they also offer a variety of coffee which includes Espresso, Iced or Hot Coffee, and Ice Blended Coffee. Other drinks include their Special Tea, Calamnsi Juice, Matcha, and Gumamela Tea.
So what did we order?
🍛 All Day Breakfast - Tocino with Egg and Garlic Rice.
🍛 All Day Breakfast - Hungarian with Egg and Garlic Rice.
🍛 All Day Breakfast - Bacon with Egg and Garlic Rice.
I ordered a Tocino dish. Nothing special with the meal but using the black serving bowl, the food was aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. The plating always matters. Apart from the looks, the food tasted delicious. The serving was big than what I was expecting. It was more than enough to satisfy our morning hunger. I enjoyed my meal, the moms and kids also enjoyed theirs.
A valuable lesson I was reminded of during our visit here was Not to judge the book by its cover. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a place to dine in General Luna, Siargao.
We were energized after our breakfast here, ready to take on the surfing lessons later that day.
