Thank you for foodies bee hive community. I can share traditional dishes,introduce dishes that are well known from their ancestors, especially in the areas West Java Indonesia.
Stir fried Genjer with Oncom, is a dish that has been around for a long time. Genjer is a plant that grows in shallow waters such as newly harvested rice field.
Genjer or limnochaeris flava, has a rich content of energy,protein,fat,carbohydrate,and minerals. While Oncom comes from mixed with tofu dreghs ,soybean dregs,which are fermented.
This type of material is often stir fried as a meal with rice. As for the ingredient for cooking genjer stir fry,
- 1 brunch of genjer,flowers and stems of 400 grams
- 200 grams of oncom
- 5 cloves of red onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 tomatoes
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
- 3 spoon of oil for frying.
Cooking step,
Step 1 genjer flowers and stalks are washed with running water,then drains, pour hot water until wilted.
Step 2 puree spices such as onion,garlic,green chili,candlenut,salt,sugar.
Step 3 heat the oil,then the mashed fragrant,input oncom that has been chopped,and sliced tomatoes.
Step 4 after that turn of the fire then enter the genjer and mix well,wait a few minutes and stir fry the genjer oncom ready to serve.
