Ingredients

1 cup fresh or frozen Green Peas (matar)
3/4 cup (1/2-inch cubed) Paneer (cottage cheese)
1 medium Onion, finely chopped
1 Green Chilli, chopped
2-3 cloves of Garlic
1/2 inch piece of Ginger, chopped
2 medium Tomatoes, roughly chopped
1/2 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
1/4 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
Salt to taste
For shallow frying Oil or Ghee

How to cook Matar paneer

First, cut the paneer into small pieces and heat oil in a wok and fry the paneer pieces until they turn brown.

Than take a pan and start heating the oil in it. When the oil becomes hot, add garlic and ginger first, then add onions and green chili, and saute until they are cooked.

After the onions are sauteed, add tomatoes to the pan. Along with tomatoes, add salt according to taste and fry for some time.

After about 1 to 2 minutes, add red chili powder, coriander powder, and turmeric powder to it. Mix all these spices well and cook over medium heat.

When the spices release oil, add the peas and the cut pieces of paneer, and mix them well. After mixing, let them cook for a little while.

Now, for the gravy, add some water to it.

After this, we need to cover the matar paneer dish and cook it for about 10 minutes.

Once it's cooked, add garam masala and finely chopped fresh coriander leaves to it.

The matar paneer dish is now ready to be served.
