Happytummy, happy we!

Hello foodies! How's your appetite doing?

How about pumping up your taste buds as I will be sharing with you some delicious and mouth-watering foods my colleagues brought during our weekend getaway for us to share with each other. This is for me, one of the essence of comradeship, sharing our best and in this regard, the most delicious food we could bring. Each one never came empty handed.

We blessed the food before we partake it, thankful for the abundance and for this much needed break.

The food we gathered looked very delicious making my stomach grumble for a moment. Can't wait a have a taste of these mouthwatering dishes.

The dishes that made gastric juices churn and my taste buds pumped up

Menudo

Menudo is a pork stew in a tomato based sauce with potato and carrots. The main ingredient here is pork that is why I considered this rich man's food as pork is more expensive. It's one of those dishes that we don't cook on a daily basis and usually are prepared during special occasion. This is best eaten with rice.

Grilled Fish

Maybe the easiest to prepare is grilled fish. Fish can not be absent in gatherings like this as some are now conscious about health. Some have their health issues and could not consume meat other than fish. So grilled fish is the way to go. Dipping fish meat into a mix of soy sauce and kalamansi with chili makes your taste buds wanting for more.

Mixed Seafood Boil

Warning: Allergy Check!

This mixed seafood boil is a mix of goodness and danger. This maybe be heaven to look at but its hell when you are allergic. So make sure to have an allergy check. 😀

But who can resist this, tasty crab meat and shrimp with added goodness of mussel and squid in garlic sauce? I just can't. This dish is something I look forward to occassions and gathering. Thankfully, someone brought it and satisfied my craving for seafood goodness.

Squid Adobo

A delicious variation to adobo recipe goodness is this squid adobo. And perhaps my most favorite adobo dish. This is cooked in vinegar, soy sauce and garlic. You may wonder why the black color? It is the squid ink included which makes it more delicious and interesting. Just make sure to brush you teeth after so you will still be able to smile with confidence. 😆

This is my favorite and honestly I could skip all those dishes on the table except this. Really delicious!

Lechon Manok (Roasted Chicken)

While lechon baboy or roasted pig is too expensive, lechon manok is the cheaper choice. Well, it's still lechon which undergo the same cooking process. Lechon manok is an on the go dish for this type of gathering. It is readily available in the market. Its goodness depends on the freshness of the meat and the stuffed spices inside the chicken that will produce this delicous sauce with it.

Fried Rice Mixed with Squid Ink

Rice is life and it can never be out of the list. Plain rice completes everything. Filipinos do not call it a meal without rice.

But someone brought rice with a twist. And this is fried rice with squid ink. The reason this rice is black. You can opt to eat this alone because, it's already good to go.

Kinilaw na Isda

Kinilaw is raw fish cut in cubes marinated in vinegar and kalamansi (a citrus fruit) added with salt for flavor, and garnished with onions and tomato. This is usually eaten as appetizer or eaten as pulutan during drinking sessions.

I didn't have a taste of the kinilaw as I am not used to uncooked fish. But if you havent tasted it, I can attest that it's worth a try.
