Home Grown Tomatoes

It's true what they say, you really can't beat home grown organic foods. So I always like calling to my Dad's farm when the tomatoes are in season. He has these growing inside near his pizza oven and they are so sweet and delicious.

You can tell a good tomato from a distance, as the rich vibrant tomato smell hits you.

The photos below show the tomatoes in various stages of readiness, from flowers, to green to red and ripe.

We always make nice tomato sauce for the pizza bases using these fresh tomatoes too, as you can't beat fresh local ingredients and it doesn't come more fresh or local than above.

So we go from tomatoes.....

What does it look like from outside

This is how the pizza oven looks from outside. Dad designed it to look like an upside down Currach, which is a traditional Irish fishing boat.

What a View

Oh and check out the view from the pizza oven door too. It's pretty special.

The area itself is pretty special, as you can see from these photos.
