This time I want to tell you about my gemstones. How and when did it all start?
Esta vez quiero hablarles de mis piedras preciosas. ¿Cómo y cuándo empezó todo?
Before, I had never heard the word "quartz" and in fact did not know that such a thing existed, and with so many varieties.
Antes, nunca había escuchado la palabra “cuarzo” y de hecho no sabía que existía tal cosa, y con tantas variedades.
One day, maybe I was 15 years old, in one of those conversations with my best friend (who at the time was traveling on the Margarita island, in Venezuela), talking about energy, spirituality, things we liked; she told me that she had seen many beautiful stones and quartz at a craft fair, and she had bought an amethyst quartz pendant for me!
Un día, quizás tenía 15 años, en una de esas conversaciones con mi mejor amiga (quien en ese momento estaba de viaje en la isla de Margarita, Venezuela), hablando de energías, de espiritualidad, de cosas que nos gustaban; me decía que había visto en una feria de artesanías, muchas piedras hermosas y cuarzos ¡Y que había comprado un colgante de cuarzo Amatista para mí!
In addition to the Amethyst, a stone shower of stars. She bought herself a very beautiful Opal. The funny thing about this, is that today none of us have those stones... as if somehow they came into our lives with a purpose, and after being fulfilled they followed their course. She presented her opal. My star shower stone broke (yet I keep it), and the amethyst disappeared one day...
Además de la Amatista, una piedra lluvia de estrellas. Ella se compró un Ópalo muy hermoso. Lo curioso de esto, es que hoy en día ninguno posee esas piedras... como si de algún modo llegaron a nuestras vidas con un propósito, y luego de ser cumplido siguieron su curso. Ella obsequió su ópalo. Mi piedra lluvia de estrellas se rompió (sin embargo, la conservo), y la amatista desapareció un día...
Ever since I learned about these magical objects, I became obsessed. I researched, searched, wrote, and so little by little I got my stones. I bought some of them, others gave them to me, others that really crossed my path when I was in nature. And I also couldn't believe that my grandmother (already transcended to the cosmos) was a stone collector !!!! My father in those moments of remembering his mother, ordering his clothes, accessories and things, got a box and there were: jasper, seawater, pyrite, malachite.
Desde que supe de estos mágicos objetos, me obsesioné. Investigué, busqué, escribí, y así poco a poco fui obteniendo mis piedras. Algunas las compré, otras me las regalaron, otras de verdad que se me atravesaban en el camino cuando estaba en la naturaleza. ¡¡¡¡Y tampoco podía creer que mi abuela (ya trascendida al cosmos) era coleccionista de piedras!!!! Mi papá en esos momentos de recordar a su madre, ordenando su ropa, sus accesorios y sus cosas, consiguió una cajita y en ella había: jaspe, agua marina, pirita, malaquita.
And one day on the way to school, he gave me a bag, and surprise! Stones for me!
Y un día de camino al colegio, me entrego una bolsita, ¡y sorpresa! ¡Piedras para mí!
On another occasion, walking on the mountain Los Altos de Sucre, with my partner at the time, we were going to a waterfall
En otra ocasión, caminando en la montaña de Los Altos de Sucre, con mi compañero en ese entonces, nos dirigíamos a una cascada
Along the way, we found a large rock and it had glitters, and he said to me: "Surely there are stones or quartz around here" and then I couldn't get it out of my head that I wanted to find one! We keep walking, but only looking towards the ground HAHA, and another surprise! This beautiful quartz was placed on the ground
En el camino, nos encontramos una roca grande y tenía brillitos, y él me dijo: “seguro hay piedras o cuarzos por aquí” y entonces no me saque de la cabeza que quería encontrarme uno! Seguimos caminando, pero viendo únicamente hacia el suelo JAJA, ¡y otra sorpresa! Estaba puesto en la tierra este hermoso cuarzo
And I totally fell in love, he was waiting for me! It was put on display like a gem! I was very excited and appreciated it. From that moment I knew the magic that this mountain had that today is very precious to me.
Y me enamoré totalmente, estaba esperándome! ¡Estaba puesto como una gema en exhibición! Me emocioné mucho y lo agradecí. Desde ese momento supe la magia que tenía esta montaña que hoy día es muy preciada para mí.

I have found, or rather they have found me, in rivers, mountains, islands, beaches, all magically!
Me he encontrado, o mejor dicho me han encontrado ellas a mí, en ríos, montañas, islas, playas, ¡todo mágicamente!
I remember my friends saying to me: "You have a magnet to find quartz!" And so it was, they really appeared in front of me.
Recuerdo que mis amigos me decían: “tienes un imán para encontrar cuarzos!” Y así era, de verdad que se me topaban al frente de mis narices.
Throughout all this, I have soaked up information about them, I have worked with them, I have charged them with energy ... so much so that one day I wanted to study gemology. But well, for my part I studied them, I have had many stones, I have analyzed and worked them, I have made necklaces with them, artcrafts, dream catchers. And they have helped me a lot.
A lo largo de todo esto, me he empapado de información acerca de ellas, he trabajado con ellas, las he cargado con energía... tanto así que un día me dieron ganas de estudiar gemología. Pero pues, por mi parte igual las estudié, he tenido muchas piedras, las he analizado y las he trabajado, he hecho collares con ellas, artesanías, atrapasueños. Y pues me han ayudado muchísimo.
I have a special one that goes with me everywhere. It is a crystal quartz, it was given to me by a very good friend, directly from Roraima!
Tengo una en especial que va conmigo a todos lados. Es un cuarzo cristal, me lo obsequió una muy buena amiga, ¡directamente desde Roraima!
And do I tell you something? Roraima and the Gran Sabana are my dream! I have always wanted to go and see these beautiful landscapes, but above all because I know the amount of quartz, stones and gems that abound there. And well, since I had it in my hands I felt its magic, and until today I carry it with me on my chest, hanging.
¿Y les digo algo? Roraima y la Gran Sabana son mi sueño! Siempre he deseado ir y conocer esos hermosos paisajes, pero sobre todo porque sé la cantidad de cuarzos, piedras y gemas que ahí abundan. Y pues, desde que lo tuve en mis manos sentí su magia, y hasta hoy lo llevo conmigo en mi pecho, colgado.

Ahora les mostraré algunas de mis piedras. No están todas puesto que cuando me vine a Colombia, decidí dejar algunas. Y regalar otras.
