Hola, comunidad, en esta primera ronda de la Semana 49 deseo participar con una vieja canción que popularizara hace años el legendario Kenny Rogers. Se trata de "Through The Years".

¿Por qué seleccioné está cancìón para participar está semana y no elegí una más reciente o que se encontrara de moda? Primero, me gusta ir al "baúl de los recuerdos" - casi siempre "recuerdos ajenos" porque son de décadas anteriores cuando faltaban también décadas para que yo naciera. Hay una verdadera colección de canciones antiguas que merecen seguir vigentes, que merecen seguirse escuchando porque son de calidad.

Primero, son canciones que tienen un mensaje positivo, que en forma directa o indirecta subrayan la importancia de los valores.

Segundo, utilizan un lenguaje de altura. Muchas son verdaderos poemas y aún las que no lo son usan palabras decentes... muy decentes.

Tercero, sus melodías, sean alegres o nostálgicas son de gran belleza.

Todas estas cualidades las encontramos en esta canción.

Es un canto al amor que dura años. No es la típica canción en la cual se habla de que en los años venideros la pareja de enamorados permanecerá junta y unida pase lo que pase. Es el canto cuando ya han pasado juntos muchos años, cuando ya juntos han comido "las verdes y las maduras" y en ese compartir las vicisitudes y alegrías diarias su amor se ha fortalecido y su unión se ha profundizado.

Dedico esta canción a esos matrimonios que celebran ya sus bodas de plata o de oro. A esos que peinan canas y salen aún tomados de la mano

We find all these qualities in this song.

It is a song to love that lasts for years. It is not the typical song in which it is said that in the years to come the couple in love will remain together and united no matter what happens. It is the song when they have spent many years together, when together they have eaten "the green ones and the ripe ones" and in that sharing of daily vicissitudes and joys their love has strengthened and their union has deepened.
