Manifestation w/ Saint Arson!

Hey, hey! For once, I’m writing hours before my usual post window. I’ve been at @caffetto all day and it’s been wonderful. Dropped @guthrie off his brother’s and I’ve been grinding all day and night. I’ve been really happy with both the concept art I finished yesterday and the positive response its gotten here on Hive. I’m looking forward to more time this week to work on illustration and new concept art. One of my favorite areas of balance in my life is when I can split my days, spending half of it working on photography and the other half drawing monsters. That’s the dream. Getting there, one step at a time.

Tonight, I have photography to share. New work with Saint Arson from Los Angeles. She and I go way back. We’ve been friends on social media for years and we’ve always talked about a collaboration. During this last trip to LA, I booked a really unique AirBnB on top of a mountain in Topanga Canyon. It was miles of twisting, tiny roads. The previous night, I had a big shoot there and while I was laying in bed, she messaged me saying, “You’re here?!”. We talked about how bad we wanted to shoot and how we’ve always missed one another. I finally said, “How spontaneous are you?”.

I had to check out of that beautiful space at 11:00a.m., so I proposed that she meet me there at 8:30a.m. We could shoot for 90 minutes and be happy with whatever we got. Remarkably, she was down, which I so deeply appreciate. LA, in my experience, is a very flaky culture and for someone to stay up all night and still make it to me in the mountains, at sunrise [pretty much], was admirable and refreshing. These photos are just a few from the morning we were able to make happen completely spontaneously. I love them so much.

There are a lot more from this shoot with her and so many of them are distinctively strong photos. The next shoot is certainly going to be NSFW. I tried to keep this round of edits uncensored but this is the last of what I have clothed. I’m going to make this post, warm up the Tesla and make my way home. I haven’t eaten since 1:00p.m., so I’ll make myself dinner then draw in bed until I’m ready to pass out. I have a couple meetings tomorrow and I’ll be finally registering the business. Manifestations are becoming reality. Good night!
