Although Phuket is just a small island, there are many temples. Today I would like to recommend one temple in Phuket. It is located near the city but is very peaceful it is "Wat Sapam". It is a temple located on a high hill inside the temple, there is an extensive area, shady with big trees, suitable for practicing Dhamma.

When driving into the temple, you will see the shady atmosphere and many stupas containing the bones of the deceased lined up along the way. Inside the temple, besides being shady with big trees, the quiet atmosphere made me feel quite lonely because there were no people in the temple. If I were a child, I would not have dared to enter the temple because I was afraid of ghosts even though I had never seen a ghost before.

After parking my car, I walked to the chapel built on the hill. This large chapel is a beautiful piece of architecture. The interior has been tightly closed since the Covid outbreak. Most temples will close their chapels to outsiders and will only open them when there are important ceremonies or important Buddhist days.

I walked around the chapel because the weather was not hot today.

After Death, after the body is cremated, leaving only ashes and bones, relatives will bring the bones of the deceased to the pagoda. For those who do not have much money and cannot buy a pagoda, bring the ashes and bones of the deceased to the wall of the chapel with a picture and name of the deceased in front.

Near the chapel, there is a large golden Buddha statue sitting in meditation, facing the sea. From this angle, you can see the sea view because the temple is located on a high hill.

Wat Sapam has a very large area next to the ordination hall, there is a black Buddha statue meditating under a large Bodhi tree. The surrounding area is a very quiet and lonely atmosphere because wherever you look, you will see only stupas containing the ashes and bones of the dead. This place is suitable for those who want quiet to practice Dhamma.
