Cycling hit hard by coronavirus as races canceled and teams pull out By Reuters

The coronavirus episode kept on negatively affecting cycling as groups pulled back from dashing and coordinators began to drop occasions on Thursday.  

Race coordinators in Italy, the European nation generally influenced by the flare-up, said on Thursday they were dropping Saturday's Strade Bianche one-day race after Rome chose to hold occasions without fans.  

"RCS Sport will demand the UCI (International Cycling Union), through the Italian Cycling Federation, to assign another date on the universal cycling schedule for Strade Bianche and Strade Bianche Women Elite," RCS said in an announcement.  

RCS has not yet said whether the Milan-Sanremo significant exemplary and the Tirreno-Adriatico organize race - both booked during the current month - will proceed however a few groups have just pulled out.  

"We have decided to secure the soundness of our riders and staff and to assume our liability for the general public in not further spreading the infection," said Astana chief Alexandre Vinokourov, whose group has pulled back from dashing until March 20.
